The Pentax 06 Telephoto Zoom 15-45mm f/2.8 Lens is a long-range telephoto zoom lens equivalent to 83-249mm in the 35mm format. It is compatible with Pentax Q-mount cameras and features a wide maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout the entire zoom range. Within the lens construction, two Extra-low Dispersion glass elements and one super-low dispersion glass element are included for greater image sharpness and clarity. Additionally, a Super Protect (SP) coating is applied to the front lens surface for enhanced protection and greater ease when cleaning.
This lens also features the Quick-Shift focus system for instantly switching between auto and manual focus modes during use. Its extremely compact design, measuring approximately 2 x 2.2", and light weight, 3.2 ounces, complements the small form-factor of Pentax Q cameras.

Comments about Pentax 06 Telephoto Zoom 15-45mm f/2.8 Lens:
The Pentax Q is the camera I didn't think I needed but got for a good price and am glad I did. That said, the release of the 06 Telephoto Zoom 15-45mm f/2.8 was a welcomed addition to make up a tiny go-pack two lens/camera setup. It is only slightly longer than the 02 Standard 5-15mm zoom and weighs almost nothing. For times when the K-5 kit is too much, the Q kit is great and the lens combo works very well.

Comments about Pentax 06 Telephoto Zoom 15-45mm f/2.8 Lens:
So far I've found this lens to be a good value. Optics appear to be nice, with minimal CA in OOF areas. Sharp with nice color/contrast and f2.8 constant, can't beat that in a lens this size!Construction is good but not great. The 02 lens feels more solid, and the focus ring on the 06 is to thin. It gives to the lightest pressure, but it doesn't actually bend- just flexes alot. I shimmed mine and it minimized that and also stopped the other build issue. That being it's way to easy to nudge the focus ring when zooming. In fact I think at times the zoom ring movement turned the focus ring enough to kick in the MF assist feature (if you use that). That drove me nuts. Shimming it also improved the lack of resistance that focus by wire gives you. Not a fan of focus by wire, but adapting to it. All in all, it's a very good lens. I'd give it a 5 IF the focus ring was more solid.
