The Livestream Broadcaster encodes video and audio signals from cameras and switchers and streams them to the web without connection to a computer, streaming via Livestream's "New Livestream" service. Video is encoded in the commonly accepted H.264 format and audio in the common AAC format, both in real-time at up to 2.3 Mbps. The two signals are input by HDMI and via a 3.5mm audio jack, respectively.
The Encoder features a blue OLED display, a button, a joystick control, and four blue status indicators. Wireless WiFi is built in and an Ethernet port is available. Power is by a DC adapter or by AA batteries, both included.

Comments about Livestream Broadcaster:
- I bought this unit to stream live video at my clients state of the art virtual office facilities. Before the purchase we tested WIFI connection and it was stunning 32+ MBs upload. WOW! It was more than 10 times it is required by Livestream - to stream in HD their max upload is 2.3MBs. When we were ready to stream the unit had problems sinkin in to their WIFI. (keep in mind that the unit WILL NOT remember password for the network so every time I had to insert it using tiny joystick and my thumb - pray that customers have simple/short passwords). After few attempts we were in...but then troubles begun. It was streaming for one minute then really bad pixellation appeared, sound was off 15-20 seconds. It was unacceptable. BIG FIASCO. (at the same time
we tested it on our laptops and upload was CONSISTENT 32+MBs on my PC laptop and theirs MAC's!!!). So internet (I mean very strong and powerfull signal) was there. It was proven. When we hooked it to ethernet it was working OK streaming in HD.
- Then I took it to another location to test it. Upload speed we measured there were 7+ MBs. Unfortunately we were not able to sink in to the WIFI there either. After eight or nine attempts it did once but again we were not able to stream because signal was fluctuating dropping to 50KBs; again we tested WIFI on our laptops and everything looked just fine.
- Then it happened I had to travel and I took the unit with me (1000 miles away). Same story - iternet tested there upload was around 10 MBs. Again I couldn't even sink in to the WIFI there. While connected via ethernet it was working OK.
That was too much for me. I contacted Livestream tech support (again be aware - it is very small company and handfull of people handles tech supp. NO tel support even though I pay for account on monthly bases - only next day email ) and a day or so later I got generic email blaming wifi conncection in all three locations !!!!!! It was just plain senseless. I remember my first attempt to stream from that client's facility where upload internet measured was 32+MBs and when I tried to blame their WIFI they looked at me with disbelieve and asked "what else do you need; there is nothing faster in downtown Chicago we can have!).
My point is BE AWARE - Livestream Broadcaster is absolutely unreliable if you want to use it to stream over WIFI. I do it for living and we are signing contracts with clients so when we arrive to the location we MUST be 100% sure our equipment is up to task. What they advertise about streaming over WIFI didn't worked for me in all three separate attempts. It is scary.
If you plan streaming over ethernet it seems to work OK (just make sure you don't offer to you clients to do it over WIFI because it could be disaster for you.
I returned the unit to B&H.
-(oh btw the unit will not remember passwords to networks so every time you have to enter it using tiny joystick - royal pain).
- another thing - batteries were RED HOT to the point I could smell "something is overheating" coming from the box. Alkaline batteries will last for 15 minutes of streaming. You have to use those super expensive ultra lithium.

Comments about Livestream Broadcaster:
I can't imagine anyone giving the Broadcaster by Livestream anything other than 5 stars! This was so simple to setup and is ready to go, we have trailed it on all streaming speeds both wireless and wirelessly.... If I were asked to describe this unit in one word it would be simple.. FLAWLESS! This is great for ministry use, personal use or how about band use? I promise you will find a use and it will not only fit the need, but it will not cost you an arm and a leg!

It can without a lower right button. I am waiting for a replacement button and can't really use the product until I have that.

Comments about Livestream Broadcaster:
This is one of the easiest new products I've ever used. We had some minor difficulties dealing with password security at the facility that I broadcast from, but I expected that. Once we connected, the stream played well and auto-archived the event, which really impressed he client.I'd highly recommend the broadcaster.

I have used this product to film a Memorial Service for my first try...it was fantastic, l was able to see how many people were watching and also view the footage as it was being shown on the internet... fantastic product. My only disappointment was the product chew thru the batteries within an hour, when the box states it lasts for 3hours !!!
