Comments about Olympus 8x25 WPII Binocular (Green):

I ordered this Olympus 8x25 WP II because I wanted a pocket sized bino with high optical performances, water proof, long eye relief and short focus distance.

I compared this one with Pentax DCF MP 8x28 and Olympus EXPS 8x42. Optically, this Olympus 8x25 WP II is pretty good with sharp image over about 80% of the field. Even with small objectives, image is about as sharp and bright as Pentax 8x28. View angle is also about the same as Pentax's 6.0 deg FOV, although this Olympus is rated 6.2 deg FOV. The porro prism Olympus 8x42 EXPS looks obviously brighter, also has more contrast and wider FOV than both smaller roof prism models.

Focus is not very smooth, with different degree of backlash between left and right focus. It takes some practice to get sharp focus for both eyes quickly.

It has twist up eye cups, when both eye cups are down, 15mm eye relief is just enough for eye glass viewers to see the entire field.

Overall I think this is a pretty good bino with excellent optical quality for the cost and size.

Comments about Olympus 8x25 WPII Binocular (Green):

Perfect for concerts and sports. Excelent optics resulting in a very clear image in a compact and lightweight body. The only con is the lack of a mount to be used with a monopod, which could be helpful sometimes.
