The 16GB iPod nano (Blue) (7th Generation) from Apple is a digital media player with a compact design and intuitive multi-touch screen. In addition to digital audio playback, the iPod nano lets you look at photos, listen to FM radio and work out using built-in Nike+ support.

You'll be able to swipe, drag, tap and rotate your fingers across the display to control the player's functionality. The 2.5" Multi-touch display lets you view photos and watch videos in crystal clear quality. Album art also looks great when playing your favorite artist or band.

The smooth anodized aluminum design allows the iPod nano to be ultra-slim as well as durable. The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery has a music playback time of up to 30 hours on a full charge and a video playback time of up to 3.5 hours on a full charge. The iPod nano can also fast charge in about 1.5 hours (charges up to 80% battery capacity) while a full charge would take about 3 hours.

Design
About the size of a credit card, the iPod nano is just 0.21" (5.4mm) thin. The 2.5" Multi-Touch display is nearly twice the size of the display on the previous iPod nano, so you can see more of the music, photos and videos you have. Tactile buttons let you quickly play, pause, change songs or adjust the volume. The smooth anodized aluminum design makes the iPod nano stylish yet durable. There are also a variety of colors to choose from
Music
Tap to play your favorite songs, entire albums or everything by one artist. You can even browse by genres or composers. Flip through your music by album art. To keep things fresh, give the iPod nano a shake and it shuffles to a different song in your music library
Video
Now you can watch episodes of your favorite TV shows, Hollywood blockbusters, free video podcasts and home videos on your iPod nano. View them on the widescreen 2.5-inch Multi-Touch display. Tap to play, fast-forward, rewind, and pause
Bluetooth 4.0
Pairing iPod nano with Bluetooth-enabled headphones and supported speakers is a cinch. With no wires in the way, connecting to Bluetooth devices is hassle free. And if your car's sound system is Bluetooth enabled, when you sit down in the driver's seat, your iPod nano is ready to pick up where you left off without missing a beat
Radio
FM radio keeps you up on what's going on out there, whether it's the game, the top news stories or your favorite talk shows. Just plug in your headphones and tap to see the controls. Flick the radio dial to change stations. Tap to set your favorites. Need to take a break? With Live Pause, you won't miss a minute. Just tap to pause the song or show, then tap again to continue. You can even rewind as far back as 15 minutes, so you can be sure to catch the lyrics of your favorite song. You can also fast-forward to catch up to a live broadcast
EarPods
While the older Apple earbuds have gotten a lot of criticism for not fitting well and having poor sound quality, Apple has reinvented them into the Apple EarPods. The Apple EarPods were designed to fit the ear, not the other way around. It has a front vent, a rear vent, a bass vent and a primary acoustic outlet to provide deeper bass and better audio all around while staying stable in your ears
Lightning Connector
Replacing the 30-pin dock connector with something newer, smaller, and better, the iPod nano has what is called Lightning. It's significantly more durable than the 30-pin connector. It's also reversible, so there's no wrong way to plug in the cable. If you have an iPod nano accessory that depends on the 30-pin connector, you can still connect it to your iPod nano with a Lightning to 30-pin adapter (sold separately). Though with more and more accessories adding wireless capabilities through Bluetooth technology, thankfully cords and cables don't have to be a hassle
Nike+
The iPod nano gives you some much-needed musical motivation and provides real-time feedback. Since Nike+ support and a pedometer are built into iPod nano, there's no need to connect a receiver or use a shoe sensor to track your steps, distance, pace, time, and calories burned. Built-in Bluetooth technology lets you wirelessly connect to heart-rate monitors and headphones, making it easier to exercise. And at the end of your workout, sync iPod nano to nikeplus.com to track your daily activity and goals, check your NikeFuel, and monitor your fitness progress against yourself and your friends
Photos
The larger screen on the new iPod nano works well for viewing photos. Just pinch and zoom to view your favorite pictures
Podcasts
Browse podcasts through the podcast directory in iTunes. When you find one (or more than one) you're interested in, subscribe. That way you won't miss an episode. Oh, and the best part? Thousands of them are free
iTunes
iTunes is the easiest way to fill your iPod nano with music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, podcasts, and more. Just buy from the iTunes Store on your Mac or PC, or import your CD collection into iTunes. Then you can make your own playlists, create Genius playlists, choose Genius Mixes and sync it all to your iPod nano

Was excited for this model to come out, not as tiny as the last generation. Has some nice upgrades from my current Nano in that they made the volume control actual buttons which is much easier when I'm working out. Also love the integrated Nike Plus which I've been using for years with the shoe microchip. The only thing I don't love it the touch screen. Not so functional when you're working out and sweaty. The only other negative is the lack of a "lock" button. It's a push button like a cell phone which is going to easily get pushed in my gym bag. Overall it's a nice upgrade at a reasonable price. My 5th gen Nano has lasted 3 years + so I look forward to a long life on this one too.

The product is not to bad. The only problem is the headphone connector. Its a bad design. If you simply push the jack in, it won't work. There is a mechanical flaw in the design or the production. The only way to have the comple good sound is to slightly pull the jack from it full inserted position. This takes a bit of time to get it, and then the sound is good.

Comments about 16GB iPod nano (Purple, 7th Generation):

Overall a good piece of hardware and easy to operate. Sounds good too.I had resisted the Apple universe for a long time and the most annoying part of transitioning to this player was having to deal with iTunes. I have a large music library on a server in my home that I use for storage and DLNA for devices all over my home. Not being able to simply copy folders to a player as if it is a USB drive and being forced into iTunes (which needed to replicate everything I wanted to put on the player) was too much of a hassle. If I had it to do all over again I would have avoided an Apple product and iTunes and gone with something that I copy music onto just like a thumb drive.

Comments about 16GB iPod nano (Green, 7th Generation):

Apple's products have not the same quality as before. They removed the camera from the iPod Nano but the size and storage capacity remain the same, as well as the price. I'm addicted to Apple products but I have realized that the operating life of Apple products is decreasing every year. It's a shame. But there is not much competition in the market and it's still very worthwhile purchase them. Anyway, it's a beautiful product, with a good sound quality, but they could have a 32 gb ipod nano to storage more music. My flash drive (pendrive) has 32 gb of storage and it's much smaller...

Comments about 16GB iPod nano (Blue, 7th Generation):

Believe it or not, this is my first MP3 player. (OK, I'm 60, so it's not that hard to believe, I guess.) I chose the Nano mainly to play music in the car, as I was tired of the clutter from all those CDs. I didn't need all the functions of the Touch -- my phone does all that other stuff.I'm impressed with the ease of ripping CDs (via iTunes) and loading them onto the Nano. The sound is excellent in my car as well as on my stereo receiver at home. I'm not an audiophile, but I do appreciate the full range of clean, clear sound that the Nano puts out.I was a bit annoyed that I had to buy an adapter to use the Nano in my older iPad dock, but the adapter was cheaper than buying a new dock, so I bit the bullet. (Be careful of the cheap adapters out there -- apparently some are only chargers and don't synch properly with other devices. I picked up a refurbished Apple adapter at 2/3 the cost of a new one.)I briefly tested the Bluetooth capability and it worked fine on my car radio. The ear buds are fine, too. I was surprised that they would stay put in my ears, but they do -- although I didn't test them while jogging.Overall, I'm very pleased with the iPod Nano Gen 7.

Comments about 16GB iPod nano (Pink, 7th Generation):

We have been using cassette tape listening centers for up to 5 kids at a time to "read" a book along with the voice and turn the page "at the beep". We converted the tapes to .mp3 files and now the kids play them on the iPod Nano's. This has eliminated handling and replacing damaged tapes, We now make the books accessible to each Nano through a published iTunes library, where similar stories are organized as tracks of an album. We keep the tapes in storage as proof of ownership (for copyright reasons).

I have had previous generations fo the iPod nano, but this newest model is fantastic. The sound quality and size are perfect. I use this mostly at the gym. The only thing I did not like was the supplied headphones. I bought a sweat proof Sony pair from BH. Happy camper. Love the color too.
