It's also sized to hold your 11.6" laptop, iPad, tablet or netbook. For the videographer, it can hold a compact video camcorder plus accessories.

The unique design of this pack offers you a way to gain access to your gear while still maintaining its traditional backpack format. In the backpack or "X" position with the straps across your chest this allows you to easily and rapidly swing the pack to either your left or right side by simply releasing the quick release buckles. In this way, you won't have to remove the entire pack to retrieve gear.

The pack is essentially divided in half with the bottom half designated for your photo or video gear and the top half for personals such a maps, paperwork, cell phone and 11.6" laptop or iPad. The overall design maintains a thin, efficient profile. The main camera compartment comes with modular yellow padded dividers that give you the freedom to configure the pack to suit your gear needs.

The top compartment can also be used to store less frequently needed gear. There are two external zippered pockets that allow you to retrieve accessories without having to open the main compartments. The front of the pack contains tripod straps that can accommodate a small field tripod.

The pack is made from durable ripstop nylon and comes with a handy rain cover that can be readily deployed when the weather turns against you. For added convenience, the KT DL-3N1-22 Sling Backpack is compatible with KATA's optional Insertrolley or any wheeled cart. Simply thread the pack over the tow handle and you'll have the ability to place all your luggage on one rolling cart. The pack comes with a 5-year warranty from KATA.

Comments about Kata KT DL-3N1-22 Sling Backpack (Medium, Black):

There is more room then you can imagine. I have my camera with 18-180 lens plus two others. Add two lens hoods. Perfect. The top portion holds my I-pad and a few extra pieces of gear. Backpack fits well on back with adjustment for anyone. Alaska here I come !!

Comments about Kata KT DL-3N1-22 Sling Backpack (Medium, Black):

This bag is a nice size for travel. It fits nicely under the seat in an airplane. For it's size it has a lot of space in it. The only things I am not a fan of is the way the tripod is to be fastened to the bag and that the rain cover is not attached to the bag. Neither are terrible, just personal preferences. I have found I prefer the backpack setup vs. the sling set up. I wore the bag as a backpack for 5 hours straight and was plenty comfortable.

Comments about Kata KT DL-3N1-22 Sling Backpack (Medium, Black):

I bought this backpack to carry my camera in to keep the dust off of it. We do a lot of ATV riding in Arizona with a group of people, and it gets very dusty! This backpack has room for my camera, goggles, scarves, and a few other small items. I like that it has a rain cover, also, as we go north in the summer.

Comments about Kata KT DL-3N1-22 Sling Backpack (Medium, Black):

This is a great bag. Everything fits tight in it and the space is well used. The only thing not great is that when fully loaded and using it as a sling, it is kind of harsh on the shoulder. To help, you have to pull on the strap to have it tighten to yourself. But I guess it would be the case for any other sling bag.

I use my bag to bring my Nikon D7000 and two lenses with a few filters and one flash and tripod.

            - I would have liked Quick-disconnect buckles with the strap used to attach the tripod. I'll modify it myself.

            - I like the fact that I that can use it with one or two shoulder straps.

Comments about Kata KT DL-3N1-22 Sling Backpack (Medium, Black):

I purchased this bag sight unseen. I had seen it's predecessor model at a local store but no one had yet cleared enough inventory to carry this newest model. Wile the prior incarnation of this bag was OK, I liked the redesigned shape of this unit and assumed that there would be other improvements... Not the case. While I am sure this will meet some photographers' needs, I found several less than satisfactory items. Most notably, the zippers seem to be cheap and didn't move smoothly. Secondly the straps are sadly thin thus cut into you when the bag is loaded, a clear down-grade from a bag manufacturer who ought to know better. Thirdly the interior hook and loop fastening of the internal dividers is not strong. As I tried it out, it was sufficient to hold the dividers in place with equipment in all of the cubbies in the bag but a couple "let go" when heavy gear pushed on empty slots. Fortunately the B&H return process was simple, fast and easy.
