The Road trip is actually two camera supports in one. A foam-cushioned, removable leg attaches to the center column to convert to full size monopod.

The tripod's legs can be spread independently, with two-position leg angle stops. A spring-loaded hook is located in a recess at the bottom of the center column, allowing you to hang a heavy object from it for additional stability.

The ball head offers separate head and pan locks, a 360° pan index, and an integral bubble level. An Arca-type quick-release plate with a 1/4"-20 camera screw is included in the kit, along with a durable carry case with a shoulder strap for storage and transport.

Two Position Leg Angle Stops
For an extra measure of flexibility, tripod legs can be independently locked into place at two different angles to enable shooting in cramped quarters, on uneven terrain or at low camera angles.
Foam Grip on Monopod Leg
Provides comfort while carrying, especially in extreme temperatures.
Rapid Center Column

Recessed Center Column Hook
A spring loaded recessed hook, located in the bottom of the center column, allows you to hang a heavy object for increased stability.
Quick Twist Rubber Lock Grips with Anti-Rotation Leg System
MeFoto's rubberized locking grips combined with anti-rotation legs enable fast and fumble-free setup plus weather and dust resistance.
Precision Matched Ball Head
Dual-action heavy duty ball head with Arca-type compatible quick-release plate.
360 Degree Panning
Accurate panoramas can be easily accomplished using the graduated panning scale for accurate image alignment.

I recently purchased this tripod although I was hesitant to purchase it because of the price. I know professional tripods cost much more than this, but photography is just a new hobby for me! As soon as I removed it from the packaging, I felt it was money well spent. This tripod feels very heavy duty, which could be a con for some as it does have some weight to it but I like it because it feels solid. I am very glad I purchased it over the MeFoto A01350Q1A as I think the extra height (about a foot) was worth the extra money in itself although folded length is an additional 3". Setup is quick and easy, its the first tripod I've had with the turn locks, but they are easy to lock and unlock together when the tripod is in the folded position. Legs lock into position firmly. The camera attaches very securely (although a screw with a d-ring would be great) and the ball head controls work smoothly and make it easy to fine adjust the camera. I really like the tension adjusting knob. The bubble level is still visible with my Nikon D5100 (larger cameras it would probably be covered) and works pretty accurately, but I prefer the type of levels on my Sunpak 4STM over the single bubble in the round sight glass the MeFoto has. I attached the carrying case to the underside of my Lowepro Pro Runner 200 AW camera bag and take the tripod everywhere I go. I have not used it as a monopod yet, but I did like the fact that I can convert it to one if the situation arises. The spiked feet are also a nice feature, though I have not tried them yet either. I'm very happy with the purchase of this tripod from B&H, I was looking for a quality tripod, that holds my camera and lenses securely, travels small, and still has height so I'm not bending over looking through the view finder... the MeFoto A1350Q1A was a great choice for me.

I can't speak for the high end tripods out there, but if you're looking for an affordable travel tripod that is lightweight and folds down small (~15 inches) and that is used under normal conditions then this is the one for you. The legs have an adjustable 2-angle which I found a bit cumbersome to get used to. I find that the arca-style base plate that came with the tripod didn't stay tight on my 5d while in use (maybe I'm not tightening it enough but I plan to look for custom-type arca base plate that will prevent the body from twisting from it). The tripod isn't weather-proof as expected at the price point. I brought to a sandy environment (not recommended) and sand got into the twist lock joints that will grind when attempting to lock and also prevented the legs from locking securely without clearing the sand first.

I needed a tripod to hike, travel and fit in my backpack with, and one that was affordable. This packs up fairly small and is not too heavy. I think it was a good choice for the price.

I love my tripod and wanted tp update my review. I had a stroke in July that affected my right side. I am right-handed and was still able to put my tripod up while sitting in a wheelchair and using my left hand. I love my tripod even more now.

Comments about RoadTrip Travel Tripod Kit (Blue):

This small tripod is well made and I think it will be great to travel with. I have not tried the monopod feature or the mounting the camera upside down in the center column for macro work, but I would like to do this some day. If this tripod is taken care of it will last a long time.

Talk about sturdy! I bought this tripod mainly for nightscape photos and so far, it hasn't disappointed. Although it is maybe a bit heavy for a tripod (3lbs), it's well worth it. It's strong build also reassures you about the quality that you've invested in. Extends from such a compact size all the way out as tall as 6 ft!

I researched a lot of travel tripods before ending up with the RoadTrip Travel Tripod by MeFOTO. After extensive use on my first trip, I'd say that it has lived up to the reviews. I typically would have had some reservations about the load capacity that others talk about but it handled my Mark III with battery pack and 70-200 lens. I appreciated how compact it was for the suitcase and at 3.6 lbs it was easy to carry for long periods.

This is a good product, and cheaper than all others I could find. Easy to set up and it is small and compact, + comes with a nice bag. The ball head works ok and seems to hold a decent amount of weight, but not necessarily when shooting a portrait. I have trouble keeping the head steady so I have just not used this tripod in this application. However, I would recommend this tripod.

For the price and size, I totally recommend this tripod to pros and amateurs.

Used this tripod for several nights worth of timelapse star photos. Tripod held very still while I had weight attached to the hook. Several nights ago when trying to photo the moon, the tripod was at one of it's highest possible positions and I couldn't get it to quit wobbling with my canon 6d + 400mm 5.6 prime. I even put it on a 10sec timer but it wouldn't hold still enough to get a keeper. I ended up shooting the moon hand held in a few tries. In short, very great tripod for me in all instances except one. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Awesome tripod, only annoying thing is that you need an adapter to use the monopod portion.

Ideal for travel. I recently took this on a trip to Upstate NY. I was able to easily carry this in my backpack. Supper easy to setup and it is rock solid. I took some pictures while in a creek and it worked fantastic.

I needed a compact tripod that is compact when I travel by air. I also needed a tripod that is sturdy enough to support a variety of lenses I use in the field and one that would be stable on rough terrain. The MePhoto does all that while being easy to set up quickly. It also comes with a ball head, or you can use other ball heads and quick release plates that you may prefer. I wish I thought of this sooner rather than carrying heavier gear on all my outings when this one meets and/or exceeds all my needs.
