The Road trip is actually two camera supports in one. A foam-cushioned, removable leg attaches to the center column to convert to full size monopod.

The tripod's legs can be spread independently, with two-position leg angle stops. A spring-loaded hook is located in a recess at the bottom of the center column, allowing you to hang a heavy object from it for additional stability.

The ball head offers separate head and pan locks, a 360° pan index, and an integral bubble level. An Arca-type quick-release plate with a 1/4"-20 camera screw is included in the kit, along with a durable carry case with a shoulder strap for storage and transport.

I recently purchased this tripod although I was hesitant to purchase it because of the price. I know professional tripods cost much more than this, but photography is just a new hobby for me! As soon as I removed it from the packaging, I felt it was money well spent. This tripod feels very heavy duty, which could be a con for some as it does have some weight to it but I like it because it feels solid. I am very glad I purchased it over the MeFoto A01350Q1A as I think the extra height (about a foot) was worth the extra money in itself although folded length is an additional 3". Setup is quick and easy, its the first tripod I've had with the turn locks, but they are easy to lock and unlock together when the tripod is in the folded position. Legs lock into position firmly. The camera attaches very securely (although a screw with a d-ring would be great) and the ball head controls work smoothly and make it easy to fine adjust the camera. I really like the tension adjusting knob. The bubble level is still visible with my Nikon D5100 (larger cameras it would probably be covered) and works pretty accurately, but I prefer the type of levels on my Sunpak 4STM over the single bubble in the round sight glass the MeFoto has. I attached the carrying case to the underside of my Lowepro Pro Runner 200 AW camera bag and take the tripod everywhere I go. I have not used it as a monopod yet, but I did like the fact that I can convert it to one if the situation arises. The spiked feet are also a nice feature, though I have not tried them yet either. I'm very happy with the purchase of this tripod from B&H, I was looking for a quality tripod, that holds my camera and lenses securely, travels small, and still has height so I'm not bending over looking through the view finder... the MeFoto A1350Q1A was a great choice for me.

I can't speak for the high end tripods out there, but if you're looking for an affordable travel tripod that is lightweight and folds down small (~15 inches) and that is used under normal conditions then this is the one for you. The legs have an adjustable 2-angle which I found a bit cumbersome to get used to. I find that the arca-style base plate that came with the tripod didn't stay tight on my 5d while in use (maybe I'm not tightening it enough but I plan to look for custom-type arca base plate that will prevent the body from twisting from it). The tripod isn't weather-proof as expected at the price point. I brought to a sandy environment (not recommended) and sand got into the twist lock joints that will grind when attempting to lock and also prevented the legs from locking securely without clearing the sand first.

Comments about RoadTrip Travel Tripod Kit (Green):

I wanted to get into some basic star and night photography and was overwhelmed by the price of tripods. This tripod is very portable, has great build quality so far, and is priced much more reasonably than other aluminum, ballhead tripods.

Comments about RoadTrip Travel Tripod Kit (Green):

This is a well made and great for travel tripod. Easily fits into a carry-on bag and the ball head doesn't budge, although my 60D, 430ex & 18-135 is about all I put on it. The color selection is great and the monopod feature is pretty nifty although I've only taken it out once or twice like that.My only complaint, and why I rated 4/5, is that the very last segment of the tripod legs seem a little flimsy. Even when I hang my bag on the middle hook they tend to flex and wobble a little. I've simply stopped using the last segment and just extend the neck if I need more height. No other complaints, can't recommend this tripod enough!

Ordered this for a US road trip taking in some famous national parks. I found it a superb addition to my kit and now never leave home without it. It's light, easy to use and very sturdy — I used it with a Canon 5D MKll and L-series lenses — and it performed as if it weighed 5 times as much. One of the best photographic tools I have ever bought.

My primary use for this tripod is support for my Canon EOS M Infrared Camera which I use with the EOS M -> EF adapter and EF mount lenses. I am normally on foot with this kit and this tripod is half the weight and half the length of the one it replaces.IMHO, the build-quality of this MeFoto (and the ball head that came with it) exeeds expectations based on its price. It comes out of its bag and sets up quickly and it stows-away easily as well. It is steady enough for the weight it is designed to support. It does not excel at low level (close-to-the-ground) shots, but, I did not buy it for that application. If it was lost or stolen, I would buy another one.

I use this for travel and hiking with my Lowepro Flipside 300. It's a great size and weight tripod and I enjoy using it. It is very sturdy even when fully extended. The ball head works great too.It does take some time to set it up because of the small leg section lengths. Loosening and tightening all of the sections takes some time. The camera mount is a little slower too as you have to carefully mount it in the groves and then tighten it. It would be better if it had a quicker attach and release mechanism. Overall, I'm glad I bought the tripod and I would buy it again for my use when hiking and traveling.

Convenient to carry and packs down fairly small. I get around by bicycle so I wanted a travel tripod to take with me occasionally. The touch of color is nice, too. The monopod conversion is a nice bonus, though some care must be taken to not unscrew it accidentally when unlocking the legs.

Overall very pleased with the tripod and can see it being a part of my kit for a long time.

I hike a lot and this is so compact, so it's perfect...fits in my daypack. It's very sturdy and the ball head is great for all angles, plus the center can be reversed for extremely low shots. The level is nice to have, but it is pretty small. No complaints about that, though. I consider that a bonus. I'm not a professional, so things don't have to be perfect.

Comments about RoadTrip Travel Tripod Kit (Titanium):

I purchased this tripod because I do not use heavy gear and wanted to have something light enough to tote around with me but sturdy enough to handle a heavier lens and flash when I decided to use them. It was one of the few that I found at the time that had a higher support without weighing a ton. My only real complaint is that the legs have to be unscrewed to let out. I wish they had clamps instead. It isn't a deal breaker, but it is annoying when you are trying to get set up outside and it takes so long to let the legs out on the tripod. Other than that, it is light weight, durable, sturdy, and the head pivots and turns very smoothly. The tripod is light weight to me, but I do not think I would want to carry it on a hike or anything.

I'm new to photography and video, but I did quite a bit of research before I bought my "Roadtrip." Initially I purchased a Vanguard Alta 263 AB, which was priced equally to the Roadtrip, but that was a mistake. The ball head on the Vanguard broke immediately! Needless to say I returned it and purchased the MeFoto "Roadtrip."The "Roadtrip" is solid. It is portable, attractive, the ball is smooth and efficient, and I am happy I made the purchase. I recommend it without reservations. It can hold a large dslr with a heavy lens--that's certain. And with a price tag well under two-hundred dollars, that's a pretty good deal in the dslr world!

This is the first "nice" tripod I have had for. At this price point, the features are very impressive. Ball head, Arca plate, etc. The tripod is easy to use and the controls are intuitive. The monopod function is actually rather useful for SMALL cameras. Fully extended, the legs are a little bandy but they settle in well and I haven't seen to much shaking.I got this to support a Pentax 6x7 and care is needed to keep the ball head tight enough not to flop about, but it seems to hold the camera very nicely.Fit and finish is quite impressive overall. The colors are also pretty cool.

Comments about RoadTrip Travel Tripod Kit (Titanium):

I have several different tripods, and I bought this for hiking where I will need a decent tripod but don't want the weight and bulk of my trusty Bogen. I wanted something light weight but sturdy - opposing objectives in the world of tripods. But it is very well constructed, very compact for my needs, and it has some nice details that set it apart from other options: such as the retractable hook for hanging a bag or weight, and the ability to convert it to a monopod. It's tall enough to be useful for a lot of situations, but with the inverting column I can get down to ground level.

I have needed a small, lightweight tripod that I could pack in a suitcase or backpack for a weekend trip. This one is stable, and able to support my Canon 5D Mark III with a long lens without vibration. The images have been excellent, without any motion artifact. The ball head works easily and panning is smooth. I will not think twice again about packing a tripod.
