The MDR-IF245RK Infrared Cordless Stereo Headphones by Sony are a pair of on-ear type wireless headphones that combine comfort and mobility while listening to your home entertainment system. The headphones feature a hi-fi audio reproduction with 40mm drivers and a frequency range of 10Hz to 24kHz.
Integrated infrared technology enables them to be worn at a distance of up to 26 feet (8m) from line of sight with the transmitter base. This allows you the option to relax or move around, while enjoying hours of private listening in the comfort of your own home.
- The self-adjusting headband and foam ear-pads allow for stability and comfort for extended listening
- When the reception frequency is weak or not received, the headphones go into automatic mute mode
- A rotary volume control and on/off button with red LED light are located conveniently on the headphones for quick adjustments
- A rechargeable NiMH battery pack is included and operates for up to 60 hours.
- Two standard AAA alkaline batteries may also be used, providing up to 28 hours of continuous operation.
- Rechargeable transmitter base with supplied AC adapter.
- Charging time on base is approximately 24 hours.

These are great headphones, However they are best when used within the confines of a desk because of the infrared range. The frequency range sets these headphones apart from normal headphones allowing great bass and highs!!

I was worried that interference from my plasma television would affect the signal and sound quality. So far, the headphones function very well as an aid for someone who has difficulty hearing the television. Worth the investment.
