The black SureFire EP7 Sonic Defenders Ultra - Hearing Protectors include a pair of medium-sized ear fittings to protect you without interfering with your ability to hear routine sounds or conversations. Their foam-tipped stem design, featuring soft memory-foam Comply Canal Tips, provides a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 28dB. Safe sound levels are allowed to pass through into the ear canal, while potentially harmful sound levels above 85dB are reduced by a proprietary design that incorporates the patented Hocks Noise Braker filter.

EP7s include attached stopper plugs, which can provide further protection in blocking out lower-level noise, for situations where hearing ambient sounds isn't critical. The right/left color-coded Sonic Defenders Ultra are made from a soft but durable, hypoallergenic polymer and are ergonomically shaped, with an adjustable-stem design, providing a secure fit, all-day comfort, and extended product life. Each set is packaged in a convenient carry case and includes a polymer lanyard.

EP7 Sonic Defenders Ultra can also serve as earpieces for EarPro by SureFire and other compatible radio communication systems.

Comments about SureFire EP7 Sonic Defenders Ultra - Hearing Protectors (1 Pair, Black, Size: Medium):

I take these hearing protectors out to the gun range and can barely hear the guns being shot, yet still hear people talking to me clearly. They are very comfortable and you almost forget you're wearing them. I definetely recommend these hearing protectors to any one who may be surrounded by loud noises.

Comments about SureFire EP7 Sonic Defenders Ultra - Hearing Protectors (1 Pair, Black, Size: Medium):

I have been using Sonic Defenders for over 5 years. I like the product line and have found the approach as good as the Headphone type without all of the bulk which gets in my way of a good cheek weld in both Benchrest and Tra p types of shooting. It Headphones also get in the way of my Cowboy hat. The EP7 has it all including pliable rubber inserts and a tiny strap to keep the EP7 together. Highly recommended.

I bought these to use for shooting competitions to compliment my electronic ear muffs. These are great by themselves. You can hear voices if you leave the plugs out and for extra protection close the plugs and the hearing protection is superior.

I use these under muffs at indoor range, on their own at outdoor range. Best plugs I have used, far superior to the disposable ones in terms of sound reduction, comfort, and "staying (in the ear) power". Amazing how well they fit my ears, given they're not custom molded or anything. They won't last forever but not sure you'd want any earplugs to do that.
