The LIVE Ping Wireless Network Camera by Lorex is a wireless security camera that allows you to view and record security video, whether at home or at your place of business. It features dual lenses for day and night viewing, event push notifications and smart video motion detection.
You can record directly to the camera and store your VGA (640 x 480) footage on microSD cards (sold separately), smartphones, tablets or PCs/Macs. It uses H.264 compression so that video files can be streamed directly to connected devices without severely impeding your bandwidth. It can be connected to your home router through a wired Ethernet cable or a Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connection.
Since you can connect wirelessly, there's an app for iOS and Android connectivity to your camera. Use your smartphone to monitor or view footage. You can even receive snapshot push notifications through your phone or email when an event triggers the camera, giving you some peace of mind when away from your property.
In addition to motion detection, the unit also has sound detection and infrared monitoring. It has two lenses, one for day viewing, and another that is triggered in low-light situations. The PIR and video detection has a 30' range at night via a single high-powered IR LED.
The built-in microphone allows you to listen over the LIVE Ping camera, and an optional external speaker lets you have two-way conversations for added security. The camera supports up to 20 simultaneous users and can be expanded to a four camera system.

Comments about Lorex LIVE Ping Wireless Network Camera:
Excellent camera that can be used as a stand alone or in a multi unit setup. Extremely easy set-up when using the optional WPS button found on most new routers, however that process becomes less clear when using a router without WPS. The issue then becomes configuring the camera for both admin and network purposes. Here the instructions could be better written so for example... the user easily understands that the setup on line 6, page 22 of the instruction manual is asking for the WIFI password/passphrase used to authenticate to the router.Additionally, The iPhone app seems to have issues connecting from outside networks, and it continues to search for the camera without connecting. When using the ipad it seems to easily connect where the iphone cannot

Comments about Lorex LIVE Ping Wireless Network Camera:
Fairly easy to set up and use. Best feature is that you don't need a third party to host and forward the transmission of images. Nightime viewing can be problematic, but daytime viewing is excellent, and you can hear what is going on, as well as see. This is my third surveillance camera, from three different manufacturers (the other two were Linksys and Trendnet). This is the best, by far. Can view images on my IPhone.

Comments about Lorex LIVE Ping Wireless Network Camera:
I put the camera in a good spot, installed the software, following the directions and hooked it up. I got picture and was pretty happy about it. Then I tried to install the software on my iPhone and it for some reason wouldn't get to the page where it would scan the box it came in. I took it back the next day.

Comments about Lorex LIVE Ping Wireless Network Camera:
For the past few years I have used a Linksys WVC54GCA camera which gave me the email alert feature I wanted and a Lorex WL2700 (two cameras and base unit) for night vision and PIR motion detection.
The LIVE Ping Wireless Network Camera by Lorex gives me all of that in one camera! I can also look in on the house remotely using an app on my Droid phone or iPad and I didn't have to subscribe to anything or learn a new skill set.

Comments about Lorex LIVE Ping Wireless Network Camera:
This is the second Lorex Network camera I have purchased. They work great. The set up was extremely easy and I am able to watch my home while at work. The picture is clear. Debating on purchasing another one.
