I was surprise at the quality of this tri-pod at the price I paid for it at B&H. I used it with a Canon Rebel T3i camera with a 2x converter and a 300mm lens attached, the tri-pod was very sturdy and functioned very well, I can't complain about this product. I looked at several higher priced Tri-Pods before I purchased this one and none of them compared to the quality of this one, most of them were flimsy and cheap made and cost a lot more. If you are looking for a good tri-pod at a reasonable price then buy this one, I think that you will be very satisfied with it.

This is a fantastic tripod, but if you intend to use it for VIDEO, you will NOT be satisfied. I bought it based on another customer's review that claimed it pans smoothly. This is true, BUT it does not tilt smoothly. It sticks and is very jerky. Most of the time, I'm panning and tilting simultaneously. Smooth, non-jerky movements with this tripod are nearly impossible. This is a shame, because I LOVE all of the other features: 73" height, detachable monopod, a quick release plate that can be installed in any direction, etc. Perhaps it could be fixed with a little lubrication? I didn't want to try this, because if it didn't work, I wouldn't be able to return it.

I have only had the opportunity to use the monopod portion of this item... but that is what drew me to it in the first place; 2-for-1! It is a little heavy to haul around if were to use it in the field, but would much rather have something sturdy vs. light and flimsy like my old Tri.

Comments about Magnus PV-7450M Photo/Video Tripod with Monopod:

Tripod legs, center column, and pan head are all nicely made and work quite well. It is also nice that it is very tall. I'm 6' tall and finally don't have to hunch over to look through the camera while on the tripod. I still have to hunch over a little for the monopod, but it's not bad. However, the quick change plate has a ton of slop. When it's attached, it's quite easy to rock the camera around front to back and side to side. This may not be a huge deal if you're using normal size lenses, but I use a Kowa TSN-4 spotting scope to shoot pictures of the moon and with the head tilted 45 degrees or so the mounting plate really looks like it's going to just pop right out of the head. Not very reassuring. This is especially disappointing since the tripod claims to have an 11lb load capacity. I'm sure it will hold the gear in place, but I didn't expect so much slop in the quick change plate. It's too bad really, because the rest of the tripod is quite solid and shows no sign of slop at all.

I gave this as a birthday gift to someone who has a growing photography talent, but lacked a tripod. I have a Magnus tripod for video, and have been please, so this tripod for photo was a good selection. Very sturdy, and the mono-pod was a plus.

One of the best features is that the tripod turns into a monopod and is very useful to use especially while recording while in motion! All around the best tripod i have ever had!

This tripod is really heavy and the tripod head feels very cheap as it is all made out of plastic. The head turns very abruptly and isn't good for filming. The lever that moves the head up and down recently broke after one week of usage. The monopod extending pieces have also broke after one week of usage and I no longer can fully retract the monopod leg. I would rather you buy a good tripod and tripod head and a separate monopod.

I was looking for a monopod and found out that little combo pretty interesting for under $. When legs are folded, it give a great intermediate tripod height. Once 100% folded, fit perfectly in a small included bag. I was looking for that ratio price/quality so for sure, it ain't made of steel but i'm sure that my body Magnus will stay healthy with great care. I don't expect great pan / tilt from that thing but got other tools for that.I mostly shoot video

I have used this tripod with my Canon EOS 60D with a 70-300 mm lens. Being over 6 ft tall, I find the height of this tripod easier on my back, do not have to slouch all the time. Given the weight and the long legs, the tripod is sturdy. Had no problems with camera jitter with either a horizontal or vertical camera mount. But I use a remote trigger, just to be sure of a steady shot.

                            Convenient 3-way leveling bubble.

                            Disappointed with camera-to-tripod mounting plate.
Camera can rotate on plate unless "super-tight".
Locking arm had to be tightened with screwdriver.

Monopod is very convenient for multiple locations.
Monopod also serves as vertical height adjustment.

Landscape-to-portrait rotation feature of this tripod was a must for intended use in individual portrait sessions (indoor and outdoor).

Comments about Magnus PV-7450M Photo/Video Tripod with Monopod:

I use my tripod to mount my Canon T3i. I haven't had an opportunity to take it into the "field," but have used it inside and in my backyard. It's not too heavy and folds up easily in a nice carry bag.

The tripod works well for what I've done so far. It's easy to set up and feels sturdy enough for my T3i with EF-S 18-200mm lens as well as my EF 70-300mm lens.

I don't see any problems with the tripod but have only used it in almost ideal conditions. It seems to have meet my expectations and I consider it a good value.

I will be using my new tripod on Sunday, I can't wait! I did take it out of the box and played with it though. It seems really sturdy and I love the monopod feature. It seems like a great "in-between" tripod: not to cheapy, but not way to expensive.

Also, I have to say the prices on this site are amazing! Great deals. Also, the shipping times are great. It only took a couple days to come to my house. I will continue to be a B&H customer!

Although I am using the tripod with a small, light camera (Sony RX100ii), I wanted better quality than my old one. This Magus PV-7450M turns out to be very stable, very convenient, and well priced. I am delighted with it. It would certainly work fine with a heavier camera.

Having owned a half dozen or so regular tripods over the years I did not realize how much I needed a "Good One" till I got this Magnus.
It is plenty tall and stable.I like that it has the monopod by simply removing the center.
It is a great value for the price.

I especially like that it is taller than most. I have not done more than open the box and make sure my camera fit on it and nothing was broken. So far so good--nothing was broken and it seems to work well. It is heavier than most tripods but that may be because it is also taller than most others.

monopod is my favorite feature. I can sit in
a room with our grandkids, pop my D600 on the
monopod and get great photos and movies.

Gotta admit, though, this sucker is heavy!
