The X-Rite ColorMunki Smile Color Calibration Solution is a simple calibration tool to help ensure your laptop or desktop monitors are consistent and displaying proper color values. This calibration solution can be used with just one LCD or LED monitor or on several to maintain accuracy from monitor to monitor. Once the colorimeter has been placed over the desired monitor, operation and calibration is handled through an intuitive wizard-driven software program that utilizes the same color engine technology found in professional-level X-Rite color calibration solutions. Once calibrated, a before and after image can instantly show you comparative results.
A calibration reminder will also automatically notify you as to when it is time to re-calibrate displays, helping you to consistently maintain color accuracy across all of your monitors.

Color calibration of your screen is critical; I have three screens (different computers) and the color looked different on all of them.
I was fully aware of the significance of this issue but other programs looked too cumbersome and expensive.
The Color Munki Smile is the absolute no brainer as you let the program do the work for you and in the end of the process the colors are being set by the program without you lifting a finger.
It will not do more than that (calibrating your projector, printers, ect); such products exist but they are at a different price point and are much more cumbersome.
Quick tip: installing the software from the CD takes too long. Copy the .exe file from the CD to your hard drive and install from there and the whole process is much much faster.
I am a happy camper now as all my screens are properly color calibrated; the one that had the most significant change was my main working screen. I was working with a screen that was way too blue; oh well, I'll have to reprocess quite a few files.

On my W7 Ultimate, I have installed over 50 apps without any problems --until now. X-Rite customer service tried to help, but to no avail. A script in their installer simply failed and repeated attempts to work-around the problem also failed. The software would not load.
I have a new laptop with a virgin W7 Home installed and the Colormunki software installed easily. Everything worked on my laptop but I needed it on my desktop. When it works, it works well ... if you can install it.

I ordered this device so that I would "know" that the colors are exactly correct on my monitor. Otherwise how do you know if the reds will print red or the blue will print blue? It is very easy to setup (after I had to manually load the driver) and it runs without errors. I just expected to see a major difference in the way the colors looked on my screen, but it really wasnt much difference.

However, requires extensive 'fixes' to work with Windows 7 64. Suggested 'fixes' did not work. Display reverted to original after hibernate. Discovered a msconfig 'fix' on the web that finally worked. Passed this info on to the Munki help line folks.

I am an amateur photographer and use photoshop to edit and print my pictures. I use dual monitors and have been very frustrated with achieving the colour results I wanted. The Colourmunki was really easy to use and did a great job calibrating both my monitors. The only problem I had was trying to register my product --frustrating.

Setup and calibration was easy, though using two LED displays (different models, same manufacturer) I notice a very slight coloration difference after calibration, not sure if that was due to brightness/contrast or whatever, but not significant. Superior to what I already had and good enough for what I need, and the price is right and ease of use is fabulous.

Smile is extremely easy to use. You just plug it in and in a few clicks it does all the work for you. If you are a pro photographer or an advanced amateur this probably isn't for you, as you have no controls, it decides everything for you. But I am very pleased with the results.

really easy to use, plug it, run cd and let it go. fast and accurate. i calibrated my laptop and my IPS monitor in 10 min. you can find alot of calibrator who do the same job , but are more expensive too. why paying more when you can get the job done right for less?

After opening the package, I followed the instructions, and everything worked out great. I have two monitors (a MacBooPro laptop, and an external Thunderbird monitor), and it detected them both, no problem. Followed the on-screen instructions, calibrated them both, and voila - calibrated monitors. Woo-hoo! Simple and effective.Couple of caveats:1) It calibrated my external first. When I switched over to the laptop monitor, an message popped up on the external that said my calibration was out of date on it. But, once I had the calibration done on the laptop monitor, that went away, and all was good.2) The calibration software takes over the entire monitor, and is kind of ugly. Just an aesthetic thing.3) I was surprised (happily) that the before and after on my external didn't show a huge difference, as opposed to the laptop monitor. Make sure to check the before and after - it can be eye-opening!
