The blue slate CityWalker 20 Messenger Bag from Think Tank is a soft, padded multi-functional bag that holds your one standard size body with a 24-70mm f/2.8 attached with 1-3 extra lenses, flash and iPad/tablet. It also accommodates a detached 70-200mm f/2.8 lens.

The bag contains a removable padded insert that, when removed, transforms the bag into one large storage space-messenger style. This double-edged approach to a camera bag gives you the freedom to carry camera gear or, when the insert is removed, other items such as books or personals.

The bag is accessed by a double security front snap buckle or touch fasteners that feature Think Tank's Sound Silencers to minimize the noise that traditional touch fasteners generate when opened. This will come in handy when you are shooting in quiet venues such as a chess match or courtroom. The front zippered organizer pocket hold everything from cleaning cloth to pens, note pad, lens cap and other small items. The front pocket is expandable via an easy to use touch fastener.

The overall material is water-resistant and soft providing a body conforming design that makes navigating through crowds and subways much easier. A combination of nylon, polyester, polyurethane and YKK zippers provide strength to the bag. Movable closed-cell interior dividers allow you to configure the bag to suit your gear needs.

The CityWalker is carried by its cushioned, adjustable, non-slip shoulder strap or convenient top grab handle. The bag comes with a seam sealed rain cover that will protect the entire bag when the weather turns against you. Topping off this bag is a business card slot located under the front flap. This will make networking easier when you need to hand your card to someone while on the go. Think Tank backs the CityWalker with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

Comments about CityWalker 20 Messenger Bag (Black):

This is a wonderfully constructed bag. It is certainly a very high quality product and much more lightweight than the Retrospective series. Quite discrete and doesn't look too much like a camera bag. Two cons for me though: 1) the shoulder pad is a bit too thick and clumpsy and there is no way of taking it off 2) the bag would do well with additional padding, especially on the bottom.

Comments about CityWalker 20 Messenger Bag (Black):

I'm sadly returning this if possible. I love the bag, the quality, the features, the styling, the color, all of it. However, for me, a mesomorph of wide shoulders and poor lower back, I'm finding the shoulder pad something I want to cut off because it's not comfortable for me. I tend to prefer a plain and simple strap. This bag doesn't allow it.

I've encountered other people that love this bag, it's flexibility, and I fully agree with them. It's awesome.

Comments about CityWalker 20 Messenger Bag (Blue Slate):

I finally found the bag that is perfect for travel and everyday use. I've been on a search for years to find the bag that will hold all the gear I travel with along with my iPad and laptop. The CityWalker 20 does the job. The size of the bag is perfect for a body, 2 lens as well as filters, cable release, etc.
I tested this bag recently as we traveled throughout Europe and I was very impressed. The quality and construction of the bag is second to none and it's comfortable on my shoulder as I walk around shooting for hours each day.
The compartments are easy to access when I want to change lens or need a filter. When it started raining, I just pulled out the rain "jacket" that came with the bag and all my gear was protected.
This really is a fantastic bag and I highly recommend it.

Comments about CityWalker 20 Messenger Bag (Blue Slate):

After searching for a lot of sources and trying to get the best review for my needs I will like to tell you my own review.

I was looking for a shoulder bag in wich I could fit in the Nikon Trinity and either the D4 or the D800, I was debating between a shoulder bag or a backpack, when I decided to go for a shoulder bag I was trying to decide between the Retrospective 7 or the CityWalker 20. Most of the people I asked for an advice, the Think Tank boys for example incourage me to go for a Retrospective 30, but I don´t want a too bulky bag, so I decided finally for the CityWalker 20.

Well Think Tank said that this bag is for a standard DSLR and could fit a 24-70 f/2.8 attached + 70-200 f/2.8 on the side + a SB-910 flash, and it has a special compartment for an iPad.

Ok here is the fun part, I could squeeze in the main compartment the Nikon D800 with or without the grip, 14-24 f/2.8, 24-70 f/2.8 and 70-200 f/2.8. Also I fit in my rapid strap, a pocket wizard combo FlexTT5 + Mini TT1 + AC3 Controller and my ipad. Or I can use it a little light, for example my D800 + 50mm f/1.8g + 105mm f/2.8 macro + 24-70 f/2.8 + the SB-910.

Forget to mention that I also carry my colorchecker passport, the ExpoDisc and the Pixel Pocket Rocket for my memory cards, also a extra battery.

The quality is AWESOME on any Think Tank Bag and in this one there is no exception, the material is lightweight, the strap has a very good padding and it has too many pockets for any other small stuff. Also it has a very good looking!!! The only cons I will like to mention is that it has little protection on the bottom of the bag, so you have to have a lot of care not to drop the bag.

This is a no brainer product if you are looking for a shoulder bag that either way removing the main compartment could be use as a messenger bag to carry on your lapton, books and any other stuff you want.

100% recomended! Love Think Tank products!

Comments about CityWalker 20 Messenger Bag (Blue Slate):

After years of collecting 'not quite right' camera bags I have finally found the perfect walk around bag.

Holds an EOS6d, Zeiss 35mmf2 and 100mm f2 Makro, an iPad and a few small goodies easily. The strap works well and makes the bag feel light enough to carry all day.

Comments about CityWalker 20 Messenger Bag (Blue Slate):

It is more problem selecting a camera bag than a camera or a lens. It seems there are no the ideal one. Problem with shoulder bags is not that you can not pack a lot of things on them, but that after an hour your shoulder start to feel hard. I use this bag with D7100, nikkors 16-85, 70-300 and 35/1.8, flash, plus extras. This is the limit weigh I can tolerate, more than that I would go with a backpack type, but you loose flexibility with getting on and off the camera. Quality of bag is very good. Strap is good also. Only change I would make is to put a zipper at the exterior flap that currently is closed by velcro, is useless for small things, very easy to fall from the bag when the bag is on is side, like in an airplane luggage compartment. Also main clip could be a little bigger/robust. In general is a good bag.

Comments about CityWalker 20 Messenger Bag (Blue Slate):

It took many bags before I finally found this bag to fit my needs, asmy other bags were a tad small or a little big bigger and the bigger the bag the more you put into it, but with this I love the fact that I was able to remove the inner container and set it up the way I want with out stuffing it and defeating the purpose for what I needed it for. The bag is well made and has enough pockets in which to store my acc. I have a nikon D7100 with a 18-105mm f/3.5 attach to it and I also carry my 10-24mm f/3.5, and a prime 50mm f/1.8 and yet had room to put in when needed my AF-s 70-300mm G ed lends wented need.I also like the fact that I'm able to put a water bottle on either side pockets.
