Comments about Canon TC-DC58E 1.4x Tele-Converter for PowerShot G15 Digital Camera:

I use this lens as an attachment to my Canon G15. It works as advertised along with the adapter. The G15 is a great little camera and this lens makes it even better. I recommend this item.

Comments about Canon TC-DC58E 1.4x Tele-Converter for PowerShot G15 Digital Camera:

the standard G15 has a zoom ratio of 5x, from 28mm to 140 mm focal length (35mm film equivalent values). I don't have much use for the 28mm wide angle but would like a bit more telephoto. A 1.4x teleconverter sounded ideal - it should give a range of 39mm - 196mm. Sorry, it doesn't. You'd think that an expensive lens made by Canon specifically for this camera would be useable across the whole zoom range. It isn't. Vignetting makes it unusable across much of the range so you end up with a focal length range of, at best, 79mm - 196mm (a zoom ratio of 2.5). For my purposes this makes it completely useless and within 24 hours of the purchase the lens was back in the box and I cannot forsee any situation in which I might use it. I should probably have spent the extra $ on getting a better camera in the first place.
