The FA-DC58D Filter Adapter for PowerShot G15 from Canon screws onto the face of the G15, around the lens, and provides a 58mm filter thread in order to attach filters. The filter adapter adjusts with the lens as the zoom extends and retracts. 58mm filters, such as a circular polarising, neutral density and skylight can be used for specific effects.

Comments about Canon FA-DC58D Filter Adapter for PowerShot G15:
If you need to use filters or just want to protect the somewhat fragile lens cover of your G-15 this is what you need. I use the camera in harsh, dirty environments and needed a way to keep dirt, mud, water, and other contaminants away from the lens. It adds a lot of size to the camera depth, but this is necessary to accomodate the telescoping lens.

Comments about Canon FA-DC58D Filter Adapter for PowerShot G15:
I bought the adapter as a UV filter lens protector and I can recommend it for that use alone. But it adds another benefit: greater stability when holding the camera, a little like a mini-slr. The G15 is no pocket camera to begin with, and the adapter makes it even much less so (though without adding noticeable weight). But if that's not an issue, I'd go for it.

Comments about Canon FA-DC58D Filter Adapter for PowerShot G15:
Does the job in protecting the original lens and flimsy lens cover of the G15. Useful for using UV or Polarizer filter too.
One small flaw in my opinion (which is the only reason gave it a 4 not a 5) is that even when fully locked in position it turns ever so slightly. This to me is annoying compared to the quality normally expected from Canon.
Seems (regardless of where you purchase it) to be well overpriced for what it actually is and must cost to make. Cheaper than replacing the original lens if that got damaged though I guess!

Comments about Canon FA-DC58D Filter Adapter for PowerShot G15:
The G15 is such an awesome substitute for a more clumsy DSLR, it still needs the capability of using filters, particularly a polarizing filter for landscape photography. This adapter attaches readily to the G15 "bayonet" mount, although you then have to find a place to keep and not loose the otherwise worthless ring on the camera. You probably will not want to leave the filter adapter on all the time, although you could. It defeats the compactness of the great camera.

Comments about Canon FA-DC58D Filter Adapter for PowerShot G15:
Excellent product in terms of protecting the original lens and flimsy lens cover.
Only complaint is that even when locked in place there is some play in the device being able to turn. It seems they not engineered the coupling device perfectly.
Apart from that an excellent product apart from (and this is with all sellers) being a bit over priced for what it actually is and what must cost to manufacture.

Comments about Canon FA-DC58D Filter Adapter for PowerShot G15:
Easy to install and remove! Allows me to use all types of filters ... UV, Circular Polarizer and etc. When looking thru the viewfinder at wide angle, you will see a small part of the adapter but you can still take the photo. Light and can be stored easly in a camera bag. Uses 58mm filters, which are reasonabley priced.

Comments about Canon FA-DC58D Filter Adapter for PowerShot G15:
I was looking for a small walk around street camera. Already had a large DSLR. The Canon G15 is a little large for the average pocket but with a belt case it is easy to carry when not using my DSLR. It feels well built and the pictures have been great. Also the price was good when weighing against the new Sony and Oly. Now just waiting for Camera Raw for the next update with the G15 added.

This is a nice adapter for attaching lens protection or specialty filters such as circular polarizers.
