The 32GB Google Nexus 7" Tablet with Wi-Fi from ASUS represents a premium Android-based device that delivers the best Google experience available on a tablet. Aside from including easy-to-use software and state-of-the-art hardware, the Nexus 7 is the first tablet to ever feature Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Jelly Bean brings intuitive controls and a plethora of customizable options. With smarter notifications, beautiful new widgets and home screen customization, the Nexus 7 takes advantage of Jelly Bean's easy to use drag-and-drop controls.
Finding that perfect balance between practicality and mobility is a difficult task. Fortunately, the Nexus 7 combines both into a slim, lightweight tablet with a perfectly-sized 7" IPS display. With a 1280 x 800 native resolution, you'll be able to enjoy deeper black levels and vibrant color when playing your high-definition video content. The screen is made of scratch-resistant Corning glass so you don't end up with unwanted marks when carrying your Nexus 7 around.
Mobility is key for any tablet and the Nexus 7 is no exception. It is only 0.41" thin and weighs less than a pound so you can carry it around with you wherever you go without adding any bulk to your bag. You don't have to worry about low battery life either since the Nexus 7 can run up to 9.5 hours during HD video playback. Actual battery life may vary with use. 9.5 hours was achieved by playing a 720p video at 100 nits brightness with an external headset, Wi-Fi turned on and logged into Gmail.
Note! The nVIDIA Tegra 3 processor can run at 1.3GHz in single-core mode.

I was actually waiting for Google Event to announce this product and as soon as it was out, I bought it at B&H (which had the best price at the time). And well I must say I was not deceived when I got it in my hands. Neat little product. The screen is so crisp and so bright and the quad core processor is just great - never lags or feels sluggish like some other cheaper tablets out there. The 7" screen feels just the right size for me. I already had an android phone, so the OS was not new for me and I really enjoyed installing my already purchased apps - without having to pay for it again - since they were both linked to my gmail account. And how these apps and games feel good on a bigger screen! I have a couple of friends - green with envy - who are telling me they'll buy it very soon from B&H too.
But there's one thing - if you want to buy one, buy the case or sleeve or whatever you need to protect it... First of all, the screen just loves your figerprints so I'm constantly cleaning it :-(. Second, after one week, due to absence of sleeve again, it slipped and fell from the dashboard in my car, a drop of 70cms on plastic and rubber, and one side of it had popped open slightly. I just put it back in place but makes me wonder what would have happened if it fell on concrete or on the road or a higher drop.
Ah and one last thing with such a big device I was expecting better battery life and lesser charging time - but I guess the bigger screen puts a toll on the battery - Right now, I have to charge it almost every night - but it must be said that I use it a lot presently - wifi on all day long, news feeds and email, games at night, gps sometimes...
Conclusion: Well despite these minor cons, I would say Go and get it while you can. Christmas is coming - buy a second one for your kids or family too if you want - that's the best quad core tablet you can get at this price. period.

I basicly wanted to use this tablet to watch my downloaded T.V. shows and Movies from peer sharing. I downloaded many shows and movies, and put them on the Nexus. None of them were viewable in medium light to bright light. The room has to be almost dark before I can see the downloads. If I download from the play store, the viewability is awesome in every aspect. I just refuse to be forced to only buy downloads from the play store. I am not sure why any of the things I download are bright enough for me to see in a lit room. I called Asus and they have no Idea how to resolve this issue. Other than this, I like the Nexus, it's just aggravating not to be able to use it the way I wanted to. I did read in several tech reviews by tech geeks, that stated the screen brightness was an issue. And could be probably be fixed by Asus with a firmware update. But there is no such update in existence thus far per Asus.

Comments about ASUS 32GB Google Nexus 7" Tablet with Wi-Fi:
I have been using Nexus 7 for about a month now and I really like it.
The size of a tablet really matters for me and I need a tablet that I can hold easily on a subway train. Nexus 7 fits the bill perfectly. It is easily to carry and light to hold and another nice thing, it is pure Google Android, without the unnecessary apps provided by manufacturers of other Android makers.
I would recommend the tablet.

My first foray into Android and I'm very very pleased. This tablet is a great size, runs fast and has a sharp screen. Compares favorably with my full sized iPad and iPhone but at half the mini-iPad price. And no need to jailbreak to customize.

Comments about ASUS 32GB Google Nexus 7" Tablet with Wi-Fi:
So far I'm really enjoying this tablet. I have an iPad & while that is great - its mainly the wife's tablet. I wanted to have one of my own & decided on the 7 instead of the iPad mini. The pricing was the icing on the cake though. The 7 is a quality unit. Feels good in the hand, not too heavy and the rubberized backing makes it real easy to handle. The extra space around the screen allows you to securely hold the tablet. So far the battery is comparable to iPad - so I'm really happy with the choice!

Comments about ASUS 32GB Google Nexus 7" Tablet with Wi-Fi:
This tablet basically replaces my laptop and I can carry it around much easier, the sound quality is better than most laptops out there and it is just so sleek and useful.
Lots of cool features such as word recognition on inputs, GPS, face recognition etc...for free shipping tax free this thing is the best deal out there.
The only things i'd consider using my laptop/desktop over this tablet is word processing / photo editing and serious gaming (then i wouldn't even use a laptop to be honest)
with a proper cover, it looks just like a little leather bound book, coolest thing I've owned this year.

Comments about ASUS 32GB Google Nexus 7" Tablet with Wi-Fi:
Overall, this is a really good tablet. But after using it for about a week, one day it wouldn't turn on. I did a search and found out that's a common problem with the Nexus tablet. There are various fixes that involve pushing and holding various buttons while plugging in and unplugging the charger. Eventully I got the tablet to turn back on. But it seems that turning on is one of the most basic things a table has to be able to do. This is a serious flaw in an otherwise good tablet.

I wanted to buy a tablet that's small enough to carry acound which would aid me in reading books. And it does the job well. It's also good for instant messaging over google talk and skype.
It's performance is great and the screen is superb. I'm really satisfied with this puchase.
Comments about ASUS 32GB Google Nexus 7" Tablet with Wi-Fi:
Gets the latest Android updates first
Love the resolution and scratch resistant display (haven't really "tested" that)
Negatives: still not as many apps as from the fruit company, no internal expansion though you can connect it via USB much easier than the fruit company to transfer any file
And, as with the fruit company, once you start in with Google Play universe (you need an account to download anything) you get sucked in to staying with them.
Pricing varies and changes
Happy overall. Competition is good

I bought this because I don't like traveling with a laptop, and will be in Europe for a couple of weeks on a riverboat that has free WiFi, and wanted to keep in touch. The apps are great, the device has an excellent display, and it works quickly and flawlessly. (I did have to send the first one back after two days, because it died, but a replacement is on its way.) The only negative is there is no rear camera, so if you want to take pictures or video to upload to email or facebook it's awkward to aim the camera. But for $ for 32 GB, it's excellent.
