I am a DSLR photographer and love hiking. When hiking, I often have a lot of stuff to carry (tent, sleeping bag, boots, etc.) and also I used to carry my heavy DSLR gear, which was quite a discomfort. Moreover, usually you put your camera at risk when hiking, as you never know when weather conditions will surprise you in the mountains. So, I wanted a small and lightweight camera to carry on hiking, but at the same time did not want to sacrifice the image quality. GoPro turned out to be the best solution. It is a small and still stunning camera, waterproof and shockproof. I even carry it with me at office and it is fun to take pictures even indoors.
Now what is bad with GoPro silver... I think a tripod mount should be included in the box and also a lens cap, if you do not want to carry waterproof case all the time.

Comments about GoPro HERO3: Silver Edition Camera:
I bought the Hero 3 for a two week trip to El Salador to help document the extreme conditions of the roads in the country side and to shoot interviews inside moving vehicles. Combined with the suction cup mount, I tested it out locally and it really holds up. The video quality is great, the wide angle shot is enough to film both people in the front seats from a mount on the windshield and the ability to preview the shot using the built in wifi and phone app is incredible. My only complaint is that "The Frame" mount is not included in the box or at least cheaper. The Suction Cup mount is $xx and can withstand speeds up to 150 mph, but requires the hardened protective case to mount, unfortunately, that case causes a rumbling sounds to invade the audio anytime it's mounted inside a moving vehicle. All "The Frame" mount is is a simple frame to allow you to mount the GoPro and it's $10 more than the suction cup mount.

This is a great little camera that delivers full HD video. The colors are vivid and the image is sharp and clear. The Auto white balance works well but it takes several seconds to adjust if there is a lighting change so avoid those if possible. Also I wish there was a version with a lens that is not so extreamly wide angle. But over all it is an awesome little camera.

These cameras are Great!!! I use these for Concert lighting and video production and absolutely love how you can place them anywhere and capture great shots of the stage. The quality of video/pictures is great and the wifi remote is very useful. The only thing that could be improved is the battery life. Other than that, go get yourself one or a couple and start having fun!!
