I'm giving this kit 5 stars because it works very well at what it's designed to do. But seriously--why do I have to spend money on a lens cap set for the price of a GoPro? They couldn't just throw these in with the camera? Yes that's right, you DO NOT get these caps when you buy a camera. You have to buy them separately. But I strongly suggest you get them because this is the only way to keep from scratching the port on the housing through normal use, and from scratching the lens on the camera when you have it out of the housing for charging or whatever.

Essential purchase if you want to protect your gopro's lenses. Especially when you need to take it out of the housing.
Gopro should seriously start selling these with the camera, at lest the round one which goes on the naked gopro.
They work very well and they protect the lens without touching it.

Haven't needed the spare battery cover or spare cable port cover, but the bare lens cover and the housing lens covers are a must-have item. Especially if you plug your GoPro into your computer for charging or offloading footage, it a good idea to have the lens covered to prevent dust or scratching.

Oddly enough GoPro sells their equipment with no lens caps. I was keeping the camera in the underwater housing and then putting the housing inside of a sock to protect both lenses. Now I can safely cover either or both lenses. The lens cover for the underwater housing also has a cover/guard for the power button so you camera won't get accidentally activated in luggage and kill your battery. The spare doors are just a bonus if I lose one.

Kind of a no-brainer for protecting the lenses on the GoPro. I use the small cap for when it's out of the case for charging/uploading, and the big square one is on always except when shooting. I wish they had come with the camera and not sold separately.
