The black Metro Sling Camera Strap from BlackRapid is a small, compact and lightweight way to carry around your Micro 4/3, mirrorless or compact camera. The 63" strap has been designed for lighter photographic use than other BlackRapid straps but remains as rough and ready as any of their other R-Straps such as the Sport, Curve (RS-7) or Cargo (RS-5).
The ballistic nylon top side of the strap is complemented by a foam pad made with knitted mesh. The Metro makes use of BlackRapid's well-known, respected, durable and fast using FastenR (FR-3) and ConnectR (CR-2). In addition, the smaller size of the strap makes it easier to store while traveling.
FastenR (R-3) is made from solid stock 304 stainless steel with a high-grade rubber compression washer and has an integrated D-ring. ConnectR CR-2 has a smooth swivel with a positive lock to ensure the safety of the camera or lens. The Black Rapid Metro Sling Camera Strap is backed by their one-year replacement warranty.

Best strap I ever bought. It's comfortable, camera sits exactly where you want it. Now I have to get 2 more for my other cameras.

Comments about BlackRapid Metro Sling Camera Strap (Black):
REMEMBER: Your camera DEPENDS on your strap. Above most other accessories, you should seek a strap, tripod and case that have particularly excellent ratings for durability and safety. Your gig, equipment, and potentially your entire enterprise can be ruined by the failure of any of these three things. Never shoot without a strap and always make sure it is attached properly. Always makes sure your tripod can support the weight of your maximum combination of lens and body weight. Choose a case or bag that is durable, padded well, and protected against the worst weather or conditions you expect.
In other words: Don't go cheap. Companies that make reliable products are made with premium materials and craftsmanship, and do come with higher price tags, but they're worth it. Indulge yourself; your camera should be worth it.
Hey there guys! I first got introduced to BlackRapid while working at Ritz Camera, and fell in love with such a novel idea immediately.
I'm not sure if it was because I couldn't afford to justify spending the extra money to hang my NEX off a strap designed to hold a 5D with a 70-200...or cause I REALLY liked the vintage Nikon strap on a Sony camera..but I never ended up getting one. If I had purchased one of the models available then, I would have gone with the Cargo Strap for the storage.
I really liked the idea of the Metro Strap when I first saw it because it seemed to be the solution for a scenario I'd thought would be pretty apt for a BlackRapid already. Since it doesn't move on the shoulder (especially with the BRAD stabilizing strap) I've always liked the idea of hiding a strap under a suit or tux while covering an event or wedding, and I wasn't sure if the standard model wouldn't be bulky and look weird under the shoulder of the coat.
The slim profile of the strap makes it a little less intimidating, too. Assuming I decided to put the compact on the full-frame-suited Cargo Strap I wanted before, I'd be reluctant to just go walking around or carry the camera with me when I go into work with it because it would be very conspicuous. The Metro is sleek enough that I just want to grab it and run whenever I leave the house, but I know I'm walking out the door with all the security you'd expect when you hear the name BlackRapid; even if its no wider than the strap of a sling bag or a purse.
Also, if you've never used any BlackRapid, they're everything they're talked up to be: Comfortable, Reliable, and Fast. If you are familiar with BlackRapids you may be worried that since The Metro less expensive its an inferior quality product in some way, let me assure you its not.
Keep in mind it is designed for a lighter camera, so trying to put a D800 would prove uncomfortable--the shoulder pad is almost half the width of the DSLR straps though it remains the same length. An APS-C with a kit lens or a fast prime might not be any heavier than my NEX with a f/1.2 lens, so it might be worth a shot if you need a smaller strap on your entry or semi-pro/prosumer level DSLRS.
Professionals will find this strap of little use unless they carry an ILC on their other shoulder and didn't need to have two massive straps across them.
I hope this review was helpful, there are few stores you can walk in to and try BlackRapid, as well as a number of other fine, professional camera equipment, so I hope I can help teach someone about the Metro, and hopefully help them decide if its the strap for them. Check out all of the BlackRapid products if you're not sure if this is the right strap for your camera.

Comments about BlackRapid Metro Sling Camera Strap (Black):
My greatest concern with this strap was that it might not be adequate for a SLR/70-200 combo. They market it as "light-weight," suitable for point-shoots and small SLRs. It seems to be quite capable of handling my D700 w/70-200 2.8 attached. I shoot high school sports, and it will do just fine for a three-hour football game. If you are all-day shooting, perhaps opt for the heavier strap.

Comments about BlackRapid Metro Sling Camera Strap (Black):
I love not having to constantly have the camera in my hands and I love the convenience of swinging the camera into place and firing away. Super easy to use and works well for street photography, action photography, or any type of non tripod work. Simple to adjust and one size fits all. Having a shoulder sling-style strap takes all the weight and stress off one's neck and back.
