The Z-Finder 3.2" Mount Frame for Small DSLR Cameras from Zacuto is a frame for DSLR camera bodies with 3.2" LCD screens, when also using a battery grip. The 3.2" Z-Finder aircraft aluminum frame must be used in conjunction with the DSLR Gorilla Plate - which is sold separately, and included with all Pro Z-finders. The frame attaches to the Gorilla Plate with two included thumb screws and then the Gorilla plate is attached to the bottom of your camera.

The frame has a rubber coating on the back which stays against the LCD screen with pressure, without damaging the camera body or leaving any residue. The other side of the frame provides a snap-on connection between it and the Z-Finder. The Z-Finder snaps into the frame and can quickly snap off for going between video and photos. To release the frame from your camera, you can un-do the thumb screws and slide the frame off. This frame can also attach to a Zacuto DSLR Baseplate.

Comments about Zacuto Z-Finder 3.2" Mount Frame for Small DSLR Cameras:

Upgraded to the larger mount frame when I bought the 5D mkiii, Easily integrates with the other Z-finder components, so I am very pleased so far. (You might have to do a google search on how to remove mount frame from the viewfinder—I did—but it's really easy to snap off in the end. Just give it some muscle. Mine did not break!)

Comments about Zacuto Z-Finder 3.2" Mount Frame for Small DSLR Cameras:

I picked this up after initially buying a lower priced alternative which did not fit my D600 properly. This is well built like all Zacuto items, but even with the battery grip frame extender it still didn;t sit flat. To pay a few hundrfed dollars for this and the grip extender onyl to have to hit [*] for soem spacing washers seems a little ridiculous. That beign said after my modification with the washers the unit performs well, attaches securely and is a god sent in direct light.

Comments about Zacuto Z-Finder 3.2" Mount Frame for Small DSLR Cameras:

I'll give it 5 stars because you need it if you have a tall body camera. For my case, it's a 5DIII with grip. I wish that when you bought the Zacuto Z-finder, they gave you a choice between the small frame or this. Now I have two frames but probably won't use the smaller one.

Also, when you have this installed, you won't be able to use the Zacuto Pincher. You'll need the adhesive version of the frame if you want to use the Pincher at the same time as the Z-Finder.

Works well, but could fit better.

It works well, but could fit my 5D MK III body better. It doesn't quite sit flush and holds the Z-Finder a bit off of the camera body.... not enough to really be a problem however. Using it is a better option for me than trying to remove the battery grip every time I need to shoot video.
