Use the Makayama Movie Mount for iPad 2nd, 3rd, 4th Gen to shoot better video with your iPad 2nd, 3rd or 4th Gen. It's a mount that allows you to attach a tripod for stable shots, pan and tilt movements or using the iStopMotion for iPad app to create stop motion animation. You can also use 37mm conversion lenses like wide angle and zoom for enhanced flexibility. For convenience, the mount lets you go between the built-in lens and conversion lens on-the-fly. The mount works with accessories like shotgun microphones, optical viewfinders and video lights.
Featuring a 9-degree working angle, you can easily use iMovie and edit with Avid. You'll be able to stand your iPad upright, allowing you to use its screen as a monitor. If you download the free Movie Mount app to your iPad, you can manually control your video recording. Additionally, the Movie Mount is compatible with Apple's Smart Cover in case you already have one on your iPad.

The IPad video camera is a handy way to shoot HD video and this tool makes it much shooting better video more functional. Not only do you get an easy way to mount the Ipad to a tripod, you get attachment options like hot shoe on top & side as well as a sliding lense mount. I was sold by the sliding lens mount feature that allows you to add a 37mm lenses to the IPad for easy switch to wide angle & 2x telephoto shooting. I was diasappointed that my Zeikos lenses were slightly larger than the slot in the mount and did not fit. I was able to use them once I inserted a Zeikos filter with a diameter that fit and provided an extention for the lenses slide. I am surprised Makayama has not had enough complaints about that to fix with the latest version. The Ipad app provided did not offer any significant options, but it does offer a slightly easier way to control reord/off.

Needs to get better....
Cheap plastic and plastic threads for tripod mount.... needed an extender to screw in 37mm wide angle lens.... not really what I expected for the price....

Comments about Makayama Movie Mount for iPad 2nd, 3rd, 4th Gen:
I am using the Movie Mount to attach my iPad to a tripod so I can take time lapse and movies with it. For this purpose the iPad needs to be held steady. The fact that I can use it with an auxiliary wide angle lens and microphone attached to the mount makes it imminently useful. An added feature is that the lens can be easily slid out of the way if not in use without detaching the lens. So far I have not found any problems with the mount.

This mount does what it is intended to very well and having the ability to use conversion lenses is a big plus!
Comments about Makayama Movie Mount for iPad 2nd, 3rd, 4th Gen:
The mount is fairly well constructed as far as the ability to hold the ipad and mount light & microphone to the "shoes". I think the slide action for the lenses was a great idea, however, the slide should be thicker to allow lense threads to secure. It didn't take much pressure for the lense to "pop out" of the slide and fall to the ground. This mount sells everywhere else for $[$], but B&H sells it for $[$], a much better deal, but still a lot of $$ for plastic.

Comments about Makayama Movie Mount for iPad 2nd, 3rd, 4th Gen:
Very cheaply made. Lens mount is thin plastic very easy to strip. Also one of my lenses I purchased with this is to fat to fit and needs a step up ring to get above the black plastic frame. Don't buy.

I purchased this mount to shoot real estate home tours. Product works as advertised. Only concern that I have is that the threading is in plastic therefore you must be careful when you add the lens or other accessories. For my application, the product works well!

I bought this about a year ago from another site (BH has best price). It is so easy to pop my ipad into it and attach to my tripod. It has two places to attach external mic (my next purchase.)
I love the uniqueness of the lens slider. Instead of removing lens, I just slide it down below the camera and then just slide it back when I am done. It is truly amazing. The picture above has the lens slid down away from camera).
