  • High-Transparency Optical Glass

The Hoya 46mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Hoya HMC filters are multi-coated for reducing flare, ghosting, and reflections on the filter surface. As a result, over 97% light transmission is possible, providing you with additional contrast and high color fidelity.

The UV NXT filters are constructed from high quality, heat-resistant, high-transparency optical glass and a precision milled low-profile aluminum frame.

Comments about Hoya 46mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter:

I have a degree in commercial and industrial photography. But my profession is product design engineer. So these days, photography is just for fun. But I am still quite particular. Since the 70s, I have placed a UV or skylight filter on a lens almost immediately after unboxing. Anything between the image and the film (or sensor) reduces image quality. In bright sunlight, UV filters do increase color quality. But cheap ones reduce sharpness. I have used other brands, but know I can trust these Hoya filters. If you want better color in daylight, or just want to protect your lens, this is a good choice. If you are spending $1000 for a lens, don't spend $10 for a filter.

Comments about Hoya 46mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter:

I got this filter to protect my lens from the elements, and from possible impact damage. It does not appear to interfere in any way with the quality of my photos. I haven't noticed any flare, reduced contrast, etc., because of it, so it is serving the purpose well.
