The 1TB Little Big Disk Thunderbolt SSD from LaCie is a solid state drive equipped with two Thunderbolt ports capable of supporting data transfer speeds of up to 10Gb/s. With independent uplink and downlink data channels, data can be sent and received at speeds of up to 10Gb/s simultaneously. Adding additional drives is made easy as you can daisy chain up to six Thunderbolt devices and displays directly through this Little Big Disk.
The Little Big Disk Drive comes preconfigured in a RAID 0 stripped set providing enhanced performance with zero redundancy. If RAID 0 doesn't meet your needs, you can also configure the drive to be RAID 1 compliant, ensuring data is written identically to two drives, thereby producing a "mirrored set." Backing up your data and managing your drive is made simple as this drive is Time Machine compatible. It also comes with LaCie Backup Assistant with data restore for Mac 10.6 and Genie Timeline Pro for additional backup and management options.

Comments about LaCie 1TB Little Big Disk Thunderbolt SSD:
I'm giving a 5 star rating b/c this solved my problem and even at this price, it was much better price than other 1TB SSD Thunderbolt Drives. I purchased one of the new 27" iMacs w/ a 3TB Fusion Drive. I need Windows to run my business so I have always used BootCamp. Unfortunately, Apple didn't warn that you can't run Bootcamp on the 3TB Fusion Drive. Pro'sMuch better deal than purchasing a 512GB or Smaller SSD.I get Read/Write Speeds at 480MBS.Small enough to be portable. Two Thunderbolt Ports to allow daisy chaining.ConsEven Though this is a SSD drive it does have a fan which you can hear. It's not loud by external hard drive standards but I record screencasts and there is a background noise. I'll be purchasing a longer Thunderbolt cable so I can put it in a cabinet.Side Note:Even though Apple won't let you run Windows natively (via BootCamp) from an external drive, with 24GB or Ram and 2GB of Video Memory I can run Windows intensive applications via Parallels and with the 2GB Video card I use the 27" iMac display and 2 other 27" Apple external displays and it works great. I allocate 12GB or Ram, and 1GB of Video Memory to parallels.
