The ZE-690EX has an illuminated LCD display that provides you with valuable exposure information, a fast recycle time, redeye reduction, and a slave function. The flash is powered by 4 AA batteries.

Works very well with my 450D and has no issues with TTL.
A great first flash for learning strobist and will be excellent as a backup or secondary slave flash.
So far I am impressed with this flash especially for the price.
