The DxO Optics Pro 8 (Standard) is photo editing software based on your specific camera and lens combination. DxO has tested all compatible lens and camera combinations, considering each piece of equipment's weaknesses, and automatically compensating for these shortcomings when editing. The result is highly optimized photo editing that's faster than the norm. Whether you're a pro, a student, or a beginner, this software ramps up your workflow and allows you to spend more time shooting, and less time in post-production.
In addition to the intimate knowledge DxO has gleaned from all the compatible cameras and lenses, Optics Pro 8 features presets that make your workflow even smoother. The interface is also extremely user-friendly and able to be customized for your specific needs. Other important functions like dust removal, color management, exposure and contrast, and RAW conversion give you the ability to tweak and modify to suit each specific situation.

Comments about DXO Optics Pro 8 (Standard):
The DxO Optics Pro is a fantastic program for global editing of digital imagery for those who want the ultimate corrections for their photos. Most digital camera / lens combinations have been analyzed in detail by DxO for everything less than perfect and the program will automatically adjust your images to optical-technical perfection. Simply clicking your mouse over the displayed image will instantly switch between original and corrected versions. There are a great many adjustments that can be made by default or at your specific request and the results are visible easily and quickly. The user interface is extremely well thought out and intuitive. It can be surprising to see the actual imperfections in some images and what the corrected version looks like.
I have taken some landscape RAW HDR images that were prone to noise and chromatic aberations, ran each image through DxO then ran these results through my HDR program and the results were outstanding. DxO is now one of my primary digital editing tools.
