I have to say that when I ordered the Andes, I didn't expect much. AFter all, the price was low and the device was small. My home system is very high-end, with single-ended tube amp, German horn speakers, and a Burson DAC that is one of the best available--so my standards are high. The Fiio was for my work computer, hoping to get some decent sound while I work. I couldn't afford to go with a more expensive unit for that application, and I hoped the Fiio would at least be tolerable. Boy, was I in for a surprise! The Andes sounds amazing--tremendous sense of space and very clear delineation of musical lines, with lots of life and drive and very natural timbres and even frequency balance. I use Etymotic ER4s headphones, which are quite inefficient, and I was worried that the Andes wouldn't have enough power to drive them, but in fact it has more than enough power. The balance control is enormously useful to me, and the tone controls work wonderfully without adding any noticeable distortion. I now find that I can't wait to get to work, just so I can listen to this. It's different from my Burson, but it is not embarrassed by it, and for less than 1/10th the price! I am astonished by what it does, and I recommend it very highly.

I was looking for a better option from my Mac Internal Soundcard. This did not work out for me. The response on transients was much slower. Just didn't fit my purposes

This little device does the job other far more expensive options claim to do. It packs a punch and does a fantastic job of giving your music some extra bass and volume. Well worth it for extended travel and home use.

Comments about Fiio Andes E07K Portable USB DAC Headphone Amplifier:

This is the first headphone amp I've purchased in several years. Previously, I've owned several guitar amps and even built a couple of my own op-amp based portable amps. Overall, I'm impressed by several things:

          1. The product represents excellent value for money
          2. Build quality appears to be superb
          3. All functionality you expect to find in a basic amp is included and works flawlessly

Specifically, I like how you can plug this into any Windows 7/8 machine and instantly have a new audio output device without fussing with drivers. You can also power two sets of cans with this amp because there are two discrete outputs. I've never been a fan of digital volume controls, but these are adequate and not too jumpy.

Battery power also lasts for a good long time. Charging is easy and doesn't take a full cycle of the moon to complete, either.

Sound so far is excellent - I do not use the EQ but feel that if I did it would be of good quality. I've driven only three sets of cans with the amp, Sony MDR-V6, ER6i, and Focal Spirit One, all were handled quite well (though only the Focals required an amp).

          All in all, quite satisfied.

To get the best out of my Sennheiser HD380 PRO, I used to plug it to my Stereo amp. My laptop headphone out is both lacking power and fidelity. Fiio E07K has totally replaced my stereo amp to listen to good music with my cans. For $ when I purchased, its value is unbeatable. It small, lightweight and sits stylishly next to my laptop. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.L7 Dock Kit is highly useful accessory if you want to connect laptop to home audio.

Comments about Fiio Andes E07K Portable USB DAC Headphone Amplifier:

The E07K is fantastic as a portable amp. The sound quality is amazing, with little to no distortion on a higher gain and superb volume output. Pair this with a higher end set of headphones and the experience will be phenomenal. It is also fantastic for dramatically improving sound quality of any PC or Mac given that it is a great digital to analogue converter (DAC). Given the low price point, this is easily the best bang for your buck if you are interested in getting a portable amp that won't break your wallet but will still produce amazing power.

Comments about Fiio Andes E07K Portable USB DAC Headphone Amplifier:

I had my doubts about this before I bought it. I'm used to very high-end gear. But I needed something for my office, and the Andes was getting good review so I took a chance. And boy am I glad I did! The sound is detailed, smooth, and natural in timbre. It does space like nothing else I've heard, and it has a remarkable ability to separate musical lines without damaging the cohesion of the whole. It's got enough power to drive my Etymotic 4s phones to very high levels, and never loses its composure doing it. I wouldn't hesitate to spend $500 for sound of this caliber; to get it $[$] is unbelievable. I find I can't wait to get to work now, because I'm going to get to listen to my music through the Andes.

I bought this amp to replace the original Fiio E7 and a Digizoid ZO². The new Andes E07K has more power than the previous E7, and a lot more power and muscle than the Digizoid ZO². Add to this a pure, grainless sound with a black background, a great dynamic punch and a fluid clarity in all frequency range. The assembly and construction quality is top notch, and the included accessories are of first quality too. This is truly a little gem!
