The Westcott Scrim Jim Reflector System is a strong, collapsible diffusion and reflector system. The 42 x 72" frame is made of light-weight aircraft aluminum. The kit includes a silver/white reversible, reflective fabric, and a 3/4-stop diffusion fabric.

The scrim Jim series are my most used gear, out on literally every show. They look so flimsy and fragile but the genius is in their breakdown size - this 4x6 frame fits alongside sticks in a shipping tube. When built and properly rigged, these frames are insanely stable and withstand huge wind and rain. Awesome piece of gear, good available surfaces and the "lighttools" grid- while expensive, is and unbelievable accessory to make big directional soft light. I own 4, love them!
Only drawback- the stock diffusion is not- it's a white net. If you want diffusion get the 1.5 stop, it's smooth and beautiful.

I use this for a white background to shoot against. I'm only framing medium shots so it's big enough. I've also used this for backgrounds for tabletop product shot.
I had been using a homemade one, but it was a pain to set-up and steam out the wrinkles on the cloth and attache with clips and bungie cords. The velcro attachments work well. After having to spend another C-note on the clamps, it's pretty pricey, but will pay off in saved time. I'm looking forward to using it for a sunlight defusser for outside interviews.

LIght weight, easy to transport, and easy to set up. I use this mostly as a large reflector. I didn't feel the 3/4 stop diffusion material was dense enough so I added the 1-1/4 stop fabric to the kit. Now I can use it to diffuse bright sunlight on my subjects.

It's large enough to work as a butterfly yet it breaks down and packs up in no time. You will have to have at least one c-stand or some large light stands and a couple of clamps. These are not included.

I'm a fashion photographer so I use this from diffusing light to reflecting light when I shoot outdoors. The size is perfect for 1 or 2 models. It's so light weight and so compact in its traveling case that we can carry it practically anywhere. Setup is easy too although when new, some sockets need to be broken in, its pretty tight. The velcro sticks well and even when its windy, things stay put. Great value!

I LOVE this reflector! For full length portraits, this is the best. The diffuser panel that comes with it is a great addition as well. The frame is solid as well. Only one minor issue - I wish the frame held itself together with some sort of latch without the fabric being attached; it would just make assembly a little easier. But for the result you get, that's negligible to me. One of the best new tools in my possession!

I'd rate it 5 stars except for 1 thing. It's tough to put together. All but one of the fittings on mine are super loose and if you move one piece the bit attached to the other end falls out, then there's the 1 tube that's bent a little and it's nearly impossible to get it together.
Other than that 1 complaint it's pretty much perfect.
