The black 10x42 Aculon A211 Binocular from Nikon is a handheld fixed-magnification optic with multicoated aspherical lenses and an ergonomically-designed housing. For the redesigned Aculon series, Nikon packages the Aculon A211 binoculars with environmentally-friendly Eco-Glass elements composed of responsibly-sourced arsenic-free material. The Aculon binocular's Porro prism design delivers enhanced depth of field, and its multicoated aspheric optical path delivers the image clarity and flat FOV demanded by nature observers.

Also new to the 2013 version of the Aculon binocular is a sculpted rubber-armored housing that is designed to fit comfortably into the observer's hand and provide non-slip handling. Grooved ridges atop the housing and a generously-sized focusing wheel enable adjustments to the interpupillary distance and the point of focus even while wearing gloves. Nikon's Turn-and-Slide eyecups allow quick re-setting of the eye relief. The combination of image quality and user-friendly design make the 10x42 Aculon A211 a cost-effective option for intermediate to long-range glassing.

Comments about Nikon 10x42 Aculon A211 Binocular (Black):

I should preface this review by pointing out that I am not an optics expert, just a normal guy who needed a decent set of binoculars. But I am a professional photographer and the concept of quality glass is not lost on me. Nor are the benefits of investing in it.Briefly, if you're someone who is used to $15 Chinese binoculars, prepare to have your mind blown. The brightness, sharpness and clarity are in a different world. Beyond that, I don't really know what to say about the optics, other than the fact that I can't even conceive of something much better than this. The color and clarity are incredibly bright and the level of detail you see is jaw dropping. The rubberized coating is perfect. Sort of sticky to the touch and very expensive feeling. All the adjustments are smooth and silky and everything feels tough, like it will last for years and years of consistent use.Nits to pick? The case is kind of stupid, with no carrying strap, and although the protective covers for the lenses are great, the ones for the eye cups don't really fit on very securely. And I suppose in a perfect world I wish the Aculon models were weatherproof. But when I am using these binoculars as binoculars, and doing the things with them that I expected to do with them, the optical performance is so much better than I hoped I just forget all about carrying cases and stuff like that.If you're an expert on binoculars, maybe you will find other things to want here, but if you're just an enthusiast looking for a good set that won't break the bank, buy these with complete confidence and never look back. They'll blow you away.

Comments about Nikon 10x42 Aculon A211 Binocular (Black):

Bought these for an alaskan cruise. Worked great! Good magnification, nice field of view, solid feel and reasonable weight. Rubber coating makes for firm, easy grip. Easy adjusting and focusing. Work great with and without eyeglasses. Optics are beautiful!
Eyepiece cover attaches to strap, but snap-in element covers are easy to lose. Strap is substantial, adding to comfort, but also makes it bulky. Strap is a pain to attach.
Overall I love these! Nice product, great choice for my purposes.

Comments about Nikon 10x42 Aculon A211 Binocular (Black):

The only negative I gave it one less star for, is that eyeglass wearers (who need them when they use binoculars), will not find these have enough eye relief for them. With that said, I think these are fantastic binoculars, and even more so for the money not spent on higher priced bins. These are super sharp in the central field of view, and objects just snap into focus-just like my 7x35 Aculons-I could not be more pleased with the performance or view. The detail you can see with these are worth the little extra bulk of a Porro prism binocular-though I find these very ergonomic for my medium-large man's hands. Small handed people might find it a bit of a challenge, but don't dismiss them until you've tried-they are well worth a try.If you haven't had a high powered bin like 10x, then they might be a little hard to hold steady at first, but with some practice and under the right conditions, they are very useful to have around to see that extra detail with a closer view.Nikon has done a great job with the Aculons. I have not tried the 8x, or 12x (and higher), but judging by the 7x and 10x, you would be hard pressed to find a better bin for anywhere near the purchase price. And B&H is the place to buy them-their integrity and good prices are a welcome friend on the net, I have found.Enjoy the 3D view-once you have, you might not be using roof prism binoculars much afterwards!

          Best Pricing on Binoculars

          By Ms. B

          from Alabama

Comments about Nikon 10x42 Aculon A211 Binocular (Black):

The pricing is perfect $ less than box stores in our area. Better service considering most of the box stores were sold out or the workers were lazy and wouldn't acknowledge us to open the case. Shipping was super fast 3 days! Obky downfall which would have happened either way was the binoculars come with a strap, carrying case and lens covers and we purchased a carry case..ooh well it can be used fir something else. Other than that we are super pleased with our order

I use it for bird and boat watching at the shore, and it is easy and smooth to focus, and reasonably light to carry. Detents on the right-eye focus make occasional fine tuning quick and easy. Great binocs that you can use without a tripod.
