The black 16x50 Aculon A211 Binocular from Nikon is a handheld fixed-magnification optic with multicoated aspherical lenses and an ergonomically-designed housing. For the redesigned Aculon series, Nikon packages the Aculon A211 binoculars with environmentally-friendly Eco-Glass elements composed of responsibly-sourced arsenic-free material. The Aculon binocular's Porro prism design delivers enhanced depth of field, and its multicoated aspheric optical path with 50mm objective lenses deliver the image clarity, brightness, and flat FOV demanded by nature observers.

Also new to the 2013 version of the Aculon binocular is a sculpted rubber-armored housing that is designed to fit comfortably into the observer's hand and provide non-slip handling. Grooved ridges atop the housing and a generously-sized focusing wheel enable adjustments to the interpupillary distance and the point of focus even while wearing gloves. Nikon's Turn-and-Slide eyecups allow quick adjustment to the eye relief. The combination of image quality and user-friendly design make the 16x50 Aculon A211 a cost-effective option for long-range glassing.

I recently moved to Newport, Oregon and wanted to be able to view wildlife and see the ships at sea. These binoculars blew me away. They provide so much detail...my girlfriend and I are truly impressed and amazed. This is my first pair of binoculars so I really don't have anything to compare them too...but I am so happy with my purchase.

Comments about Nikon 16x50 Aculon A211 Binocular (Black):

These Nikon binoculars are very clear, offering amazing quality viewing! I have used these to whale watch from the beach, and was very impressed at how crystal clear the whales were, especially considering they were at least a half mile out to sea! I looked at other higher cost binoculars, and these were just as good, for a lot less money. I'll be buying another pair for family members to enjoy!

I am using it to see stars and planets.
I have a telescope, but this binocular when fixed on a tripod shows good images. Due to the 50mm and less magnification than the telescope, the images are brighter and of a greater area, (Pleiades for instance).

I decided to buy these binoculars after accidentally dropping my Nikon Eagleview zoom pair on vacation. I am very pleased with these. They're a bit heavy, but that's to be expected as they feel very sturdy- unlike the Eagleview pair. They focus well in dim light. Overall, they're a very good value- and should last for years.

The focus wheel is very smooth ,it's very sharp and great on camping trips. You may need a tripod for viewing things at long distances. I it on a cruise to Alaska and it was amazing to look at wild life and glaciers. But it's a little unstable without a tripod. I own an old Tasco 7-15X35 that's not very clear. This is the best binoculars for the price.

when I recieved them I opened the box to find that the nikon box itself was damaged by what looked liked something had smashed it. I just about mailed it back, but i opened it to see the damaged. it was fine and the collimation was not off. they fit great in my hands and the focus ring is smooth to move. they are not water proof, yet they are fog proof.
