The black 10-22x50 Aculon A211 Binocular from Nikon is a handheld zoom optic with multicoated aspherical lenses and an ergonomically designed housing. For the redesigned Aculon series, Nikon packages the Aculon A211 binoculars with environmentally friendly Eco-Glass elements composed of responsibly-sourced arsenic-free material. The Aculon binocular's Porro prism design delivers enhanced depth of field, and its multicoated aspheric optical path with 50mm objective lenses deliver the image clarity, twilight performance, and flat FOV demanded by nature observers.

Also new to the 2013 version of the Aculon binocular is a sculpted rubber-armored housing that is designed to fit comfortably into the observer's hand and provide non-slip handling. Grooved ridges atop the housing and a generously-sized focusing wheel enable adjustments to the interpupillary distance and the point of focus even while wearing gloves. The lever located next to the right eyepiece puts control of the 10x to 22x magnification range at the observer's fingertips. The combination of image quality and user-friendly design make the 10-22x50 Aculon A211 a cost-effective option for intermediate to long-range glassing.

Comments about Nikon 10-22x50 Aculon A211 Binocular (Black):

I have been using a cheap pair I got for free for a few years and I use them almost every day as we have a lot of wildlife around my house. I had to close one eye or else you would get a slight double vision. I finally got my hands on a pair of Nikon binoculars, the 8-18x42 zoom, and was amazed at how clear everything was. Came right home and ordered the 10-22x50 zoom as I liked the specs for what I use them for a little better. Couldn't be happier, these things are great. I didn't really want zoom binoculars as I thought the optics would be better with the fixed, but I use the zoom so often that now I feel like I would never want a pair that is fixed. The view is very clear and I feel like I use the longer range (15-18x) very well. Obviously it'll get more shaky, but I feel like I still a better view of what I'm looking at by zooming in closer. Wish I'd of purchased them much sooner!

i wanted to get my son a pair of binos to whale watch with but wanted more than the usual 10 power. The zoom works well and the tripod adapter is perfect to hold them still while viewing. For the price these are great binos and we look forward to many years of use.

Comments about Nikon 10-22x50 Aculon A211 Binocular (Black):

I bought it to use some for astronomy and some for terrestrial applcations. It has an interesting thing about it though. At closer ranges, especially, it has somtimes an almsot 2 D quality. And the roof of a house that is fairly close, looks almost straight up and down, rather than angled as it should look, at some points. More distortion than I would like at closer range. Some thick tree branches look almost flat. It appears to be faily good for viewing the night sky, but you will need to use a tripod or similar device. The Aculons that are not zoom are supposed to have better lens technology. I am hoping it it will do well for the large part of my viewing, which will be the night sky, and viewing the earth, more at least at intermediate ranges. Good clarity and sharpness. Good zooming. It may be what you want, but I recommend you try one out first. Would be great for most nature viewing, but it's strange lack of depth, especially at close range, may bother you.

Comments about Nikon 10-22x50 Aculon A211 Binocular (Black):

Needs focus after zoom, but that is minor. They
DO need better eye relief. Not as easy to sight in
on bird or such as older, less powerful Nikon
Monarch 8x40s or even Travelite 9x26, but DO give
good distance viewing. They come with tripod mount
so that is an option if subject is not moving around a lot. I would recommend them to a friend
            with a few suggestions.

Good: pretty good image at zoom magnification. I can count the points on the dear's antlers a lot easier.
Not so good: the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because you have to re-focus after adjusting the zoom. Not a big deal, only a minor inconvenience.

This was purchased for my husband by me as a gift for our anniversary and I was planning on ordering another pair but the sales person I spoke with suggested the Aculon A211 Binocular which has an amazing zoom lens. We are extremely pleased with this purchase and are loving the light weight feature as well as the zoom since we live on a lake and watch the wildlife there. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who enjoys watching bird life.
