The black Airport Security V 2.0 Rolling Camera Bag from Think Tank can carry a ton of gear and then some. With a capacity of three DSLRs, seven lenses and two flashes, there's enough space for even the most demanding photographer to bring along everything he needs. The bag is large enough to store your 70-200mm f/2.8 lens upright as well as being able to house a 400mm f/2.8, 500mm f/4 or a Canon 600mm f/4 (not Nikon). If you use the optional Think Tank Artificial Intelligence 13 V3.0 or 15 V3.0 laptop cases, they will work with the optional Think Tank Airport Security Low Dividers that is a set of dividers about 2.0" (5.1 cm) shorter than the padded, movable dividers that come with bag. This allows you to place the computer safely on top of your gear. If you use the Artificial Intelligence 17 V3.0 laptop case, use of the Low Divider Set is not recommended.

The rear security cable and supplied padlock are valuable since they permit you to tether the bag to any immovable object. So if you're shooting in a reception hall, you can lock the bag to a table or column while you shoot. The front security cable and supplied combination lock permit you to secure the optional computer case to the stretchable front pocket of the bag. However, for maximum security, lock the zippers of the entire bag with that included combination lock.

Dual user-replaceable wheels are supported by a retractable handle and top and side grab handles. Think Tank will send you a free replacement set of wheels should you need them. The wheels are specially located on the outside edges of the bag to provide maximum stability. The wheel housings themselves are high to protect the wheels from the potential damage of stairs and city streets and curbs. For emergencies, the bag comes with  shoulder straps that hide within a zippered rear pocket. If the terrain you're crossing doesn't suit itself to wheels, the straps give you the option to carry the bag instead. The bag is not a full-fledged backpack but the straps offer an alternative for situations that arise unexpectedly.

Your tripod or monopod can be held in one of two ways. The stretchable front pocket or tripod cup will secure the pod. Speaking of outdoor shooting on a tripod, the bag comes with a rain cover that can be rapidly deployed when the weather turns against you. It will also cover the tripod. A front zippered organizer pocket will hold small stuff like pens, pads and wallet. It has pull-out pockets that are subdivided for separating accessories.

The really neat feature of this bag is the security plate that has a unique number on it. If you register that number with Think Tank and your bag gets lost, there's a chance you might recover it when someone finds it. Other convenient features include a business card holder located under the retractable handle as well as another zippered pocket in the same place for your passport. This incredibly spacious, flexible and functional bag is backed by Think Tank's lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

At 14.0 x 22.0 x 9.0" (35.6 x 55.9 x 22.9 cm) the Airport Security roller meets USA domestic airline carry-on size requirements. It fits easily into overhead compartments either straight in or horizontally. On smaller commuter or regional aircraft, 14.0 x 22.0 x 9.0" is still the legal carry-on size, but the bag may need to be gate-checked due to limited storage space inside the airplane
A TSA (Transportation Security Administration) combination lock secures the main compartment zipper. There are many instances when photographers must leave behind some or all of their gear while on location. The rear security cable prevents the entire bag from being stolen altogether when the cable is locked around an immovable object
The rear security cable chains the Airport Security V2.0 to immovable objects. This cable is built into the framework of the rolling bag. At times, it may be necessary to leave gear for a period of time in a media room, wedding hall, hotel room, or other open area. Locking the bag's main compartment, then locking the rear security cable to a fixed object can prevent the bag and its contents from being easily stolen. A small TSA travel padlock is included for convenience but any padlock is compatible with the cable
The front security cable and integrated combination lock fastens an optional Artificial Intelligence 13 V3.0, Artificial Intelligence 15 V3.0 or Artificial Intelligence 17 V3.0 laptop case inside the stretchable front pocket of the roller. This cable and lock reduce the chances of computer theft while the bag is being rolled from one location to another. To completely conceal the laptop from view and for best security, use the optional Airport Security Low Divider Set to carry the laptop inside the main compartment and locked up with the primary TSA combination lock
The security plate may allow your lost or stolen bag to be returned. Before using your bag, register your unique serial number on Think Tank's website
Think Tank provides a free kit so you can replace the wheels. The wheels, being located on the outside of the bag, make it very stable when rolled. The wheel housings are extra high, to protect your case when going up curbs
The bag comes with emergency shoulder straps. There are circumstances, such as stairs and gravel, when a roller does not work. Although this roller is not intended to be used regularly as a backpack, the straps are there just in case. They are removable, allowing you to store them in the main compartment
Both a monopod and tripod can be attached two different ways - either by putting two legs into the stretchable pocket or by using the Tripod Cup that comes with the roller
A seam-sealed, waterproof rain cover (like an outdoor jacket) is included. An expandable section fits over a tripod when one is attached to the bag
Optional Artificial Intelligence 15 and 17 laptop cases slide in front pocket. The advantage is that the roller looks smaller, even when the laptop case is inside the pocket. If for some reason you do need to weigh the bag, you can remove the laptop case, making the roller lighter and smaller. Also, when you get to your seat on the plane, you can pull out the laptop case and put it on your seat before putting the roller in the overhead bin
The zippered front pocket can be used for storing items like pens, pencils, card wallets, notepads, and more
For easy identification, a business card holder is located directly under the handle. It holds quite a few cards. There is also a zippered pocket under the handle that can hold your passport and other items
The Airport Security Low Divider set can be used in place of the standard dividers. These low dividers will allow you to neatly store the Artificial Intelligence 13 V3.0 and 15 V3.0 laptop cases
Compatibility
This bag holds a full DSLR kit. This patent pending rolling bag design creates a very deep bottom section-so deep you can put in a 70-200mm f/2.8 straight up and down in the bag. A 400mm f/2.8, 500mm f/4, or a Canon 600mm f/4 lens (not Nikon) can also fit with hood reversed with the leather lens cap on

I have only had the Airport security for 2 weeks but so far I am very happy with the overall product. The bag seems to have great build quality everywhere, with the exception being the expandable handle. The handle seems loose and wiggles a lot. My best guess, is that it will still do the job (and not break) but when I am spending this kind of money I expect it to be a little more rigid.

My only other small complaint is that there is no laptop sleave in the locking compartment of the bag. Supposedly you can lay a laptop flat, on top of your gear, but I am slightly heasitant to try.

Other then that, everything seems very well constructed. Wheeles roll very well, zippers work, it looks good, etc.

There is a lot of space! Currently, It is carrying two professional bodies, a 16-35 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8 Is II (attched to body), and a 300mm f/2.8 II (attached to other body). All of which have their lens hoods attached. Plus a strobe, 1d charger, and some other odds and ends.

All an all I gave it a 4 out of 5. The handle being the only reason it falls short of a perfect score in my book.

Primarily used for carry-on while flying, built tough but WAY TOO heavy by itself. A little too large, also. Even though the dimensions are listed as being within airline specs, I'm not convinced I will have no problem getting this in the overhead. And I'm sure I won't be able to lift it into the overhead by myself with the weight of the bag in addition to the equipment. As airlines start limiting weight, this bag itself weighs as much as a good size lens.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport Security V 2.0 Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

So far, no complaints of the bag. It works splendidly Wheels roll smoothly and are able to tackle some rough parking lots and a little bit of packed dirt. The bag has exponential amounts of space. I have not yet tried to set it up with lenses attached to the camera bodies. I plan to this weekend to speed up the availability of an image-ready camera body.

The case is rugged. The exterior seems durable enough to take a few hits and still protect the gear inside. The padded compartment parts are rigid and provide another level of stability to the bag to prevent crushing.

In the bag is two pro-level DSLRs, six lenses, a teleconverter, chargers, wet weather gear, cleaning supplies, spare batteries, voice recorders, two flash heads.... Im sure that if I played with the insert organization, that I could create even more space.

The images on the BH website are missing some details, there are zippered pouches on the inside of the main flap, there is additional storage space on the exterior of the bag, although it is not as abundant as the interior. The front pocket can hold a couple of pads and a handful of pens, a cell phone and thin wallet.... that about it. There is a side pouch that appears to be designed for passports and plane tickets, I keep my reporters notebooks in there. There is a small and thin zippered compartment on the top of the bag, I put my printed assignment data in there.

The Pros... Locking bag, cable lock, security and peace of mind when you have to step away from your bag. I used the cable while shooting the marching band at a high school that is known for having juvenile culprits. It was a neat feature and would definitely use if if I needed a quick Z or had a winter layover at an airport.

The cons.... HEAVY!!!! Thank God for the wheels. This bag WILL end up gate-checked on any puddle jumper you fly in. Either fly out on a 737 from a larger, nearby airport or take a deep breath and pray. The bag does appear to be able to hold its own. I would probably haggle with the baggage handler for some kind of tag or marker that would ensure it isn't thrown around. Other cons, the handle is structurally sound but... it wobbles a bit. I would definitely follow the instructions and NOT carry it by the drag handle.

Kinda-cons... The back back straps leave something to be desired... however they were not designed to be for frequent use. Only for getting the bag somewhere the wheels can't.

In conclusion, I will probably hold on to this bag until the wheels fall off. I am done with carrying my bag around, with the growing number of lenses I feel I need to have near... This is the bag to have. Plus, I feel safer leaving the bag in the truck when I need to only take two bodies and lenses to a football game. I actually cable into the under-seat frame. Of course I have insurance for my gear as well...

If you need it... or just want it... BUY IT!

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport Security V 2.0 Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

Overall, I think this is a great bag. In my pros and cons list below, I am splitting hairs by even adding the cons. Though I am knocking one star off of my review for the cons, I would buy this bag again.Pros:Ample storageExcellent wheels and handle. Lifetime warranty on the wheels.Great build quality.Able to bring aboard smaller passenger planes. Though probably not the little commuter jumpers.Cons:-- Weight. Fully loaded this thing weighs a ton. My problem, not Think Tanks.-- Not quite deep enough to stand a Canon 70-200 on end... will do it, but the lens is pretty firmly clamped by the lid... i.e. no give for a bag crush.-- Some oddly shaped compartments and uneven compartment bottoms. This is partially due to pom needed to accommodate the pull-out handle. Where the handle exists, the compartment is a bit shallow. Some of the compartments have uneven floors due to the handle taking up some internal space.-- Front sleeve would be better as a large zippered front pocket.-- I wish the zippered lid opened sideways instead of length-wise. It would be nice to have the lid open and stay somewhat vertical, rather than needing the extra space to open the full length lid and lay it out.-- I wish they included a couple of dedicated lens bridge dividers to increase the versatility of camera/lens storage.-- Needs a few extra small compartments for the "nuts and bolts" of photography.... such as a dedicated compartment for batteries.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport Security V 2.0 Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

This is a very well made bag. However, it doesn't fit lengthwise in most US aircraft. While the demotions are at the carry on size limit of most US airlines, the bag must be stowed sideways in most overhead airplane storage. It seems to be about 1-3 inches too long. You might consider the international version if you tend to fly on flights with limited overhead space. Otherwise the bag is great. It is highly customizable. It has excellent wheels. My personal preference, would be for front flap to be attached along one of the long edges, instead of at the bottom. If you have things in the outer pockets of the front flap, they can get flung about when opening. But I don't think any other bag comes close to this one, so it's just a minor issue.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport Security V 2.0 Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

While all my gear including a Nikon 400 2.8 will fit, I literally had to have a weightlifter put it up in the overhead on the airplane! With that in mind, I opted to put one of my camera bodies, a lens and my computer in my backpack. I really wanted the new airport roller derby as it has 360 wheels, but was told that the Nikon 400 was an issue due to the hood. I think with using two bags, I may have been able to get the "Roller Derby" to accomodate, but being short on time, I kept the 2.0. The Airport Security 2.0 is flexible for packing and super sturdy. I did not worry about damage, but the wheels do not allow much pivot. The organization of the bag is awesome..for my regular sports jobs it will be great. Just keep lifting those weights!

I use this bag for almost everything from landscapes to weddings. Granted it is best used for events because you can't really 'roll' through a forest or a beach. But, it can be carried or strapped on your back as a backpack. It holds more than enough gear, is strong and designed well. The zippers are second to none, I love their products! You get what you pay for.

If you are having Battery grip with your camera, it is not a good fit in the bad. It is extremely tight fit. Also I had to push the camera to pack it and there is no flexibility on this issue. It can accommodate only 2 rows of lenses. I guess 3rd row is for keeping garbage items like Batteries etc. It is impossible to pack as shown in the image which comes with the bag !

I can no longer travel with my shoulder mount sized video camera in a run bag and expect to find room in the overhead bins. For smaller video cameras, this bag does the job. The Airport Security 2.0 fits a Panasonic HPX250 camera, batteries & chargers, 9-inch monitor, media reader and cards, audio kit and cables. This bag has moderatly good protection, wheels are good. Paid more than I wanted to, but the gear arrives intact.

At last! All of my gear in one place and portable. What I have to pack includes the following: Nikon D610, D5000, 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4, 24-70 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8, 2x teleconverter, 35mm f/3.5 DX, 85mm Micro f/3.5 DX, 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6 DX, SB-700, various filters and other accessories along with four reserve batteries for the D5000 and two for the D610. Obviously, the sheer weight of this gear now precludes either shoulder or backpack style bags. No longer is it necessary to try to decide what to take and what to leave behind. Then, on the shoot, realize I left something behind that, as it turns out, I could have used but hadn't thought so when I packed the bag. There are those who say taking everything will cause motion freeze (of the photographer) but, I have found the opposite to be true. I don't consider what I'm going to shoot by what's in my bag. I look at what I'm going to shoot and reach into my bag for the camera and lens I feel will get the best results. So, having everything with me and available frees me to think about the subject and not the gear. This bag is very well built, sturdy and easy to maneuver. I don't fly so I can't attest to how it works in airport or on airplanes. The only negative I've found, thus far, is that the internal central dividers rise to be level with the outer edge of the bag. That wouldn't appear to be a problem but, if you put anything into the zipper compartments in the lid, closing the bag becomes a bit of a challenge and could eventually stress the zipper (though as well made as the zippers are, I doubt this will become an issue). I would suggest the manufacturer consider making the large center dividers a quarter to half inch less tall, thus allowing room for the lid to close, when it has items in the pockets, without stressing the zippers. On balance, I love the bag.

Best bag ever made to hold and protect all of your camera equipment. I have this bag for almost 5 years now. I travel a lot and it still looks brand new. The zippers are sturdy and it holds a lot of stuff. The wheels are also really well made and I haven't had any problems even though it does get banged around a lot. More than worth the cost.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport Security V 2.0 Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

Used it for the first time recently to travel for a destination wedding. It safely fit all of my gear as well as a light stand strapped to the outside of the bag. I had no issues getting through TSA.

The bag has many compartments which can be used for spare cards, batteries, external hard drive, and so much more. During an event, I'll use it as a dump off spot for lenses I dont wish to carry on me.

It has a security lock on the side to prevent the bag from being opened. Additionally, there is a cable lock so that you may tie the bag itself down to prevent it from walking away. Definitely came in handy during this destination wedding. I secured it to a railing.

Overall, I'd recommend this bag to anyone travelling with lots of equipment.

Admittedly I am a big fan of ThinkTank bags and have several including four rolling bags.

These bags are durable and travel well. I have used these for transporting equipment to events and even as a standard carry on with a DSLR, a couple of lenses and clothes and toiletries for an overnight job.

A big plus is the locking cables and locking zippers on the top. I have used this bag when there is no safe in the room to store equipment and valuables.

Used this bag on a recent trip to the Caribbean. I usually shlep a backpack but wanted something easier to 'carry' and maneuver at the airport. This bag holds a ton of gear and rolls effortlessly. Easy to reconfigure the interior for different lenses and accessories, too. The bag is really well made and built to take a beating. Great features like a body-integrated, TSA-friendly zipper lock and lockable security cable attached to the bag's frame provide a good means of transporting and securing your gear. The bag easily fits in the overhead bin of aircraft larger than a puddle-jumper commuter plane. Highly recommended.

I love this Thinktank Photo Rolling Camera Bag. It has more than enough room to store both my Pro 1DX and Mark III with the grip still attach to the body. It also holds all 4 of my lenses with room left for my 5th lens when I do decide to get it. It also holds my 600EX flash, Gary Fong light defuser, Boomerang flash bracket and handle and many more accessories that I use for my photography shoots. This Airport roller also has a shoulder strap and three combination locks that comes in handy and is easy store and hidden in its own zipper pockets. It does and offer so much. I hope it last me many years to come.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport Security V 2.0 Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

Primarily used for carry-on while flying, built tough but WAY TOO heavy by itself. A little too large, also. Even though the dimensions are listed as being within airline specs, I'm not convinced I will have no problem getting this in the overhead. And I'm sure I won't be able to lift it into the overhead by myself with the weight of the bag in addition to the equipment. As airlines start limiting weight, this bag itself weighs as much as a good size lens.
