The tripod rises to a height of 67" and boasts a rapid, removable center column and quick release but that's just the beginning. The ergonomic handle of its fluid head is actually a detachable wired remote with hard button control of power, grid lines, zooming and shutter depending on the camera in use. The twist-lock carbon fiber leg sections make setup a snap as does the VCT-VPR10's built-in leveler. Please see the spec section for camera compatibility.

Greater Flexibility with Detachable Remote Control
Simply attach the remote to the tripod and control your shooting from a distance, get close up shots without scaring the wildlife
Get Up Close with Zoom
Pull yourself closer to your subject with the zoom lever on the remote, or use the slow zoom switch for a smoother close up
Compose a Shot with Grid Lines
Check vertical and horizontal alignment with the grid line button on the remote, which shows 4 white lines to help line up a shot
Streaky Effect with Bulb Shooting
The photo button slows the shutter speed, so moving clouds or passing trains appear as streaks while stationary objects stay sharp
Quick and Easy Mounting with Quick Shoe
Always capture the moment perfectly, quickly attach the camera for a steady shot and then easily release once you're done
Attach Different Cameras with Connector Cable
Connect the camera or camcorder best suited to the shot using the included multi-terminal, A/V R, and remote terminal cables.
Precision High and Low Shots with the Elevator
The tripod extends to a height of 67" and down to 26.4"; the legs spread for the low angles needed in macro photography
Smooth Pans and Tilts with the Tripod Head

Comments about Sony VCT-VPR10 Remote Control Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I like the fact that it is light weight. I the fact that it has the camera controls on the tripod. I like that it has a carrying case with a shoulder strap. Here are the things I don't like: It does not have a lank connection and will cost you $ to get one. I have also had this tripod for about 5 months with fairly frequent use (2-3 times a week), and it seems to b leaking grease at the joint that sits at the top of it. It is still working properly, so time will tell if it fails shortly.

Comments about Sony VCT-VPR10 Remote Control Carbon Fiber Tripod:

It sticks and bumps. The lock/drag combination doesn't really have enough of a gradual transition. I bought some and am not really happy.

Comments about Sony VCT-VPR10 Remote Control Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Feels solid but is not heavy. Easy to use but I was disappointed to find that the remote control does not fully work with my Sony A77. The cable that I have to use does not allow remote video use even though the A77 was listed as compatible with this tripod.

Comments about Sony VCT-VPR10 Remote Control Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I bought this tripod to replace my trusty old Sony VCT-1170 which has kept me going for the last 5 years but has seen better days. My main work is wedding videography which requires a lot of quick moving around to get the next shot without any time to breakdown and start up again so I needed something light and versatile which I could move quickly with my camera still attached. The VCT-VPR10 does this perfectly. It's light and simple to pick up and move with one hand. The tilt and pan fluid head moves very smoothly. The construction is sturdy and to be honest the overall look of the tripod makes it seem a lot more expensive than what it sells for and B & H's price is a steal.

The handle remote on the tripod was the second reason I went for this to connect up to my Sony VG30 camera. They work perfectly together which makes my job a lot easier being able to start/stop and zoom on the remote without ever having to touch the camera and all the remote functions seem to have been made to coincide with my camera's most important functions.

The VCT-VPR10 is very compact when not in use and fully extended this tripod would push your camera up to a height above 6 feet which may be very handy if I ever need this.

The carbon fibre legs are very sexy although to be honest can take a bit longer to extend than the bigger tripods but a small gripe which is forgiven by the total package.

I am very impressed by with my VCT-VPR10 and also got a very good deal at B & H! I couldn't be happier! A great replacement/upgrade and if you do own a NEX VG20 or VG30 I couldn't recommend a better tripod to complete your package.
