The Sony VCT-VPR100 Remote Control Tripod connects to a wide range of cameras via included cables to provide convenient remote control functionality. A multi-terminal cable, an A/V R cable, a remote terminal cable, and a LANC cable are included. Any video/still camera with a multi-terminal port, A/V R port, remote terminal port, or LANC port is compatible.

The tripod rises to a height of 5.0' and boasts quick release but that's just the beginning. The ergonomic handle of its fluid head is actually a detachable wired remote. The remote provides start/stop and zoom and slow zoom control for use with select camcorders and hard button control of power, grid lines, zooming and shutter depending on the camera in use. The flip-lock leg sections make setup a snap as does the built-in bubble Level.

Greater Flexibility with Detachable Remote Control
Simply attach the remote to the tripod and control your shooting from a distance, get close up shots without scaring the wildlife
Get Up Close with Zoom
Pull yourself closer to your subject with the zoom lever on the remote, or use the slow zoom switch for a smoother close up
Compose a Shot with Grid Lines
Check vertical and horizontal alignment with the grid line button on the remote, which shows 4 white lines to help line up a shot
Streaky Effect with Bulb Shooting
The photo button slows the shutter speed, so moving clouds or passing trains appear as streaks while stationary objects stay sharp
Quick and Easy Mounting with Quick Shoe
Always capture the moment perfectly, quickly attach the camera for a steady shot and then easily release once you're done
Smooth Pans and Tilts with the Fluid Head
Whether it's left, right, up or down, the tripod's oil fluid head allows you to follow your subject with smooth movement
Straight Shooting
When the bubble is completely inside the red circle, the tripod platform is perfectly horizontal

    A Great Piece of Gear!

    By Wiz

Comments about Sony VCT-VPR100 Remote Control Tripod:

When you are a professional, you need all the help you can get to do the best job you can do. Although the Sony VCT-VPR100 is just a tripod, it is one of those pieces that WILL help you do your job better. I have a great team of VOLUNTEER camera operators and because they are volunteers, they don't get the benefit of operating a camera any more than once a week. So after trying several tripods and dealing with shaky shots, and ragged pans, zooms and tilts, these sticks are the best! At least the best without spend mega-bucks. The VCT-VPR100 has smooth, fluid motion thanks to an oil-filled head and the remote controls for our Sony camera right on the handle! Zoom in and out, record and stop controls reside on two places on the handle so that regardless of what position you operate your camera from, this feature makes it easy.

Thanks to four different, interchangeable connection cables, this unit is not just for Sony cameras, you can connect this balanced tripod to just about any camcorder or even DLSR camera on the market. The wonderful staff at B&H made the purchase quick and easy too! Thanks guys and keep up the great work!

Comments about Sony VCT-VPR100 Remote Control Tripod:

This product seems to be very well constructed. It is a little heavy about carrying, but the case that comes with it is well built. The only fault is that I wish the case had a shoulder strap. The hand controls are very convenient, and enclosed are three different connections to fit your camera. But make sure the tripod will have the right connection for your particular model. Just because you have a Sony camera doesn't mean it will work with yours. I had to go through the hassle of returning a tripod that didn't work with my camera.

Comments about Sony VCT-VPR100 Remote Control Tripod:

Saved about $250 on B&H vs buying from Sony directly.

We do a lot of in house video work for our company demonstrating the products that we manufacture. We had a smaller more flimsy tripod from Sony that had worn out and needed a replacement. We decided on the VCT-VPR100 as it seemed a nice step up but was still affordable.

Since receiving it we have gotten lots of use out of it. First the quality is there. Lots of solid metal parts. It's heavy but not overbearing. I'd prefer to have a little weight vs a sacrifice in quality. We do a lot of outdoor shooting and this is ideal. Length adjustments are easy and secure. Nice footing. Of course the floating head saves a ton of time for leveling. The connection to our Sony Camera is flawless. I like the adjustable zoom. You can lock it in slow mode to prevent jerkiness, or allow it to zoom fast and slow variably by how much pressure you apply.

All in all we are pleased. It's a well designed high quality tripod that I expect will last us several years.
