The Meocap Eyepiece Covers from Meopta help to protect the surface of the oculars from accidental damage when the optic is not in use. While viewing, the flipped up cover also shields ambient light from entering the observer's view. Meopta designed the Meocap covers to slide on to a wide range of eyecups for easy attachment and near-universal compatibility. Meopta's Secure Fit System ensures a snug fit on most eyecups, as well as a clasp to keep the oculars protected.

Comments about Meopta Meocap Eyepiece Covers:

I use these to keep debris and precipitation out of my Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42 binoculars when I'm wearing them on a harness. I wear my binoculars for longer, sometimes strenuous hikes, and need something that helps to keep my binoculars protected, but at the ready. The flip caps are much quicker than other cases, and they work well, but are far from perfect.

    Pros: keep most debris out
    Flip open/closed quickly
Block some peripheral light from entering the sides.
Included "shims" worked to find a perfect snug fit on my eyepieces.

    Cons:
Caps are not contoured to block ALL light from entering the side of eyes.
Flip open unintentionally (they're designed to snap shut, but only one gently snaps open, the other flips open often.)
Even when closed, dust and sand can get in the small gap at the hinge.
    Requires adhesive for strenuous use.

For hunting, I've pulled mine off my binoculars and use an Opti Skinz case until I find something more well constructed to protect my eyepieces. I'll probably re-mount them for less intensive springtime birding when I'm not hiking as much.

Comments about Meopta Meocap Eyepiece Covers:

I used the Meocaps on hunting binoculars. Three the one of the covers fell off before I left the truck. Twice one of the covers fell off when I was in the tree stand.
The idea is great, but the covers would not hold up under the circumstances I use them for.
