        Comments about EnGenius ESR750H Dual-Band Wireless-N Router:

It does the trick. We are not using it as a wireless router, but instead use it to power several ethernet jacks in our loft.So finding a reliable router that has gigabit ports was the main objective. So far (been a few weeks), it seems to be running fine. Speeds seem to fluctuate - but that might be due to provider (WebPass - here in SF). But overall, still getting faster speeds than my old Uverse connection.Reviews of this router claimed high throughput speeds and somewhat suspect wireless coverage. As mentioned, we're not using the wireless aspect so cannot comment on that.

Very nice product with good performance, externally mounted, detachable antennas.

Setup not so easy, I had to change ip4 settings under "start>control panel>view network status and tasks (under network and internet, catagory view)>change adapter settings(left side)>right click local area connection>properties>double click ip4 settings and configure according to instructions.

Overall, I like the unit a lot.

I knew about Engenius because I've installed some of their outdoor gear with excellent results. So when I saw this I jumped at the chance to upgrade my old Linksys WRT54G. This device has a rich user interface and is geared toward IT pros, not at all like what Cisco is trying to do by making it a total pain to get at the administrative nuts and bolts of your router. I couldn't be happier.

            Comments about EnGenius ESR750H Dual-Band Wireless-N Router:

Decided to replace my old 10 yrs old router after upgrade internet speed to 50DN/10UP. With everything in place to enjoy the internet freeway, old router becomes the bottle neck. It does want it says: Speed testing with new router shows 50/10 as expected. It is been two weeks, I didn't get any hard time either doing installation (10 mins) or being disconnected on wireless connection (generic issue that is somewhat related to wireless setup, can't remember the details as there is no need).

pros: price/performance ratio. I found a website that rates most of the router on the market. This is so far the best on P/P ratio. Tested by professionals. Not sure/not interested in the fancy functions. To me, router is router - make the connections. When I have some spare time, I may exploring the other functions, just to be not so "OUT".

cons: haven't find it. I do suspect my wireless home phone set is affected. But I haven't get a chance to rule out the root cause yet. So it is inconclusive. Even if the interference happens, I can't totally blame the router, I guess.

Hope this helps others when choosing a router.
