Comments about Sanho HyperDrive iUSBportCAMERA Wireless Transmitter:

The product works great. Compact, easy to use with the iPad or iPhone

The only Con to this product is that when attached to the hot shoe, it does not tighten down. And comes off the camera easy, so if you have it attached and are moving from one location to another to get a better shot, there is a better than average chance it is going to fall off.

Comments about Sanho HyperDrive iUSBportCAMERA Wireless Transmitter:

The product took a while to install since the firmware loaded onto the device was v35, and it needed to have the latest, v39 to operate with my Android device, but after being talked through it with customer support, we got it working. It worked on my Android phone, iTouch and iPad.
It focuses, ISO control, shutter speed and other essential features remotely. The only slight flaw is the lag on the reception. It is great for lining up the shots, etc, but if you're expecting realtime frame to frame accuracy, I didn't get that. Acted like it was sending a frame a second. This may be something I'm not doing right, but if it is, it isn't well explained in the manual. Overall though, it is a lifesaver.

Comments about Sanho HyperDrive iUSBportCAMERA Wireless Transmitter:

First of all this product not not worth the price for any reasons

B & H does not have anyone who knows the product.

It does work on the IPhone and Ipad.

You will wast more time making it work and stay connected

The manual does not tell you that you need to use a Small JPEG image to send images to the Ipad or any device..

You need to disable the power setting on the Camera so that the Camera will stay connected to the WIFI connection on Ipad and any other device.

Direct connection to Computer or Device is still the best method that I have found.

I worked with this product for a week trying to make it work.

No lockdown screw to safely secure the HyperDrive device to the a Shoe mount.

Trying to get technical support from HyperDrive was by online Chat only. Tried to reach by phone and no one would call back.
This product just does not meet my requirement and Satifaction.

B & H was great in allowing me to return the product. Make sure you keep all the papers, Cords and Materials that were included. They are very strict about returns.

Comments about Sanho HyperDrive iUSBportCAMERA Wireless Transmitter:

Not even close on the technology of the CamRanger. The amount of functions, versatility, speed, easy of use, software and everything you can think of makes CamRanger a much superior product. iUSBportCAMERA is a highly overpriced item for what it does, it is no match for the CamRanger.
I was extremely disappointed with the performance of the Sanho product so I returned it to B&H, got the CamRanger instead. I now use it with my iMac, laptop, iPhone and iPad.

Comments about Sanho HyperDrive iUSBportCAMERA Wireless Transmitter:

One has to wonder why Nikon does not produce such smart thing in this simple form (and this price tag) for e.g. a Nikon D800. The idea and concept of this unit deserves an award!

Installation process is simple and easy to understand and can be done within a few minutes even without reading hours in a user manual.

Before I started working with this unit I did a firmware update which was straight forward as well. The process is similar to such updates on Nikon DSLRs.

Actually I cannot comment yet on battery live since I have not used this device extensively enough.

Mechanically I'd wish there were some kind of locking screw on its foot in order to tighten it properly.

Comments about Sanho HyperDrive iUSBportCAMERA Wireless Transmitter:

Great product that performs mostly as advertised. It was very easy to set up right out of the box assuming you have the appropriate cable to connect your DSLR to the standard USB jack on the transmitter/receiver. The three major limitations thus far are that after each shutter release, the system takes several seconds to spool the information during which time the next shot cannot be taken. This limitation restricts the product's utility to one exposure every 5-10 sec. Second, the Bluetooth signal remains strong most of the time, but fades in and out without any movement and remaining within line of site of the transmitter. I cannot isolate this issue to determine if it lies with the transmitter or my iPad, but it's still an occasional issue. Lastly, the marketing material clearly states that this product is compatible with the iPad, iPhone, Mac, or Android ... which may be true, but the app you need to operate it is compatible ONLY with the iPad. As of the date of this review, there is no iPhone version of this app. May not be a major issue for some photographers, but it does mean that each shutter release becomes more of a two handed operation rather than a single handed one. Those interested in self-portraiture will also need to consider where to hide the iPad for a while. All-in-all though, it's a great product and I'd recommend it despite the caveats above.
