The Wireless Remote Commander from Sony is a multi-function remote control that is compatible with Sony Alpha NEX and DSLR cameras. With this single remote, you are able to remotely release the camera's shutter, release the shutter with a delay in order to include yourself in the photo, control the playback and deletion of images, start and stop videos and control image playback on your HDTV.

Comments about Sony Wireless Remote Commander:
On Sony cameras the cable release cannot be secured, it's not threaded, it doesn't even click. Looking for an alternative I tried the commander. It does not work for me for two reasons: (1) it requires that the shutter be set to wireless and I must give up other settings like high speed release (2) it's not reliable, very sensitive to camera/remote angle. The 2 second delay and other options like access to the entire menu are nice if you have the time to position the Commander the right way. It's very small and light and that's nice too.

I purchased this remote for my sony nex 7 camera to add the remote video functionality. I am impressed that I can now shot photos and video remotely.

Much smaller and thiner that it looks,easily hidden in your hand for self or family portrait,fits in any shirt pocket for quick storage while rearanging props and shoots from any angle !!

I wish that is was a timer remote also for time lapse or long bulb exposures. All them extra buttons for watching videos on TV is useless to me.
