The pink Canon PowerShot ELPH 330 HS Digital Camera is a compact point-and-shoot camera featuring a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor and DIGIC 5 image processor for high quality imagery with notable low-light performance. The combination of these two technologies forms the Canon HS SYSTEM, which focuses on rendering clear imagery while reducing the appearance of noise and camera blur in difficult lighting situations. Also benefitting the low-light shooting abilities of the ELPH 330 is Intelligent IS, which automatically chooses from six different shooting modes to optimize image stabilization settings for the type of shooting. The built-in 10x optical zoom lens gives a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 24-240mm, providing a zoom range suitable for most situations. A high speed autofocus system helps to acquire focus quickly and accurately, which greatly serves a fast continuous shooting rate of 6.2fps for easily capturing moving subjects.

The image sensor and processor also afford the ability to produce full HD videos up to 1080p with stereo sound and full zooming abilities during recording. Images and movies can be viewed on an HDTV via the HDMI connection or can also be viewed on the rear 3.0" LCD monitor, which is also used for image composition and menu navigation. For even more sharing abilities, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to instantly share imagery directly from your camera to social networking sites, when using Canon iMAGE GATEWAY, or straight to your iOS or Android mobile device for further sharing.

12.1MP CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 5 Image Processor
A 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor provides high image quality that, when paired with the DIGIC 5 image processor, exhibits notable low-light sensitivity. The sensor and processor collaborate to create Canon's HS System, which is able to produce clear, rich imagery in dimly-lit situations with minimal noise and high detail. The low-light shooting ability is further enhanced with the inclusion of Intelligent IS image stabilization, which applies one of six different settings to best reduce the appearance of camera shake depending on the type of scene in which you are photographing.
Built-In Wi-Fi Connectivity
Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows for the instant sharing of both still images and videos through social networks or to image-hosting sites using CANON iMAGE GATEWAY. Additionally, you can wirelessly backup your work to a personal computer or share directly with your iOS or Android mobile device for an even greater range of sharing possibilities.
10x Optical Zoom Lens
The 10x optical zoom lens provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 24-240mm, giving wide-angle to telephoto coverage to suit most shooting situations.
Full HD Recording and Movie Digest
Full HD 1920 x 1080p video recording is possible with stereo sound and full zooming capabilities, which is accessible through the use of a dedicated movie record button. For sharing and viewing both movies and still images, an HDMI port is available for outputting your imagery to an HDTV.

Movie Digest mode also makes use of HD video recording, but does so by utilizing Hybrid Auto to aid in producing short, four second video clips to accompany stills. These 720p video clips are optimized through the use of Smart AUTO settings and Intelligent IS, to render them clear and well-exposed to give a more well-rounded depiction of a scene.
Other Camera Features
  • 3.0" LCD monitor is available for image playback, composition, and for menu navigation.
  • Continuous shooting rate of 6.2fps is further benefitted by a high speed AF system to ensure consistent image sharpness.
  • ECO Mode intelligently reduces your power consumption, aiding in producing longer battery life for more shooting.

Very good image quality, good auto white balance. The iso between 80 and 800 is very good for such a small sensor. The 330 has a nice sharp lens even at the telephoto end of the zoom. I just really like the colors in the pictures that the canon cameras produce, again that's just me thinking out loud.
I set the disp overlay to grid lines to help take a straighter picture, You may use it for the 1/3 rule also. A nice backup battery is a (power2000) for canon NB-4L (1200mAh)$19.00. I have used them for years. I think your new battery will do a little better after the first couple of charges. I do not use the wi-fi.. I use program mode most of the time, thats just me tho...

I am no expert and I am trying to be honest here and help out if I can, these are just my thoughts, look at some of the pictures that I and others have posted on this site if that would be helpful and check out the other reviews on the canon 330 or (Canon IXUS 255 HS over seas). A lot of the review sites blow there pictures way up and look for defects, your likely to only make 5x7 or 8x10s and not see (what they see).If your new to this digital camera stuff remember to low level format the SD card first thing.
( Save your pictures first, doing this will also erase all your pictures).
This would be a great camera to take to Disney...

Cons : No camera is perfect.

I mostly take pictures of bear in the Smokey Mountians (CADES COVE) and love chasing the grand kids around taking their pictures.

I keep it in my briefcase or car so I always have a better camera than a cell phone.
I can accept its limitations but it will disappoint someone that wants great telephoto images in less than full sun.
    Doesn't acquire focus lock quickly
Indoor flash shots are remind me of crime scene photos-harsh shadows.
The pictures in good light are OK, but only middle half is really sharp.
The main advantage over a cell phone camera is good telephoto reach outdoors.
I don't care about the WiFi. I just copy the SD to my desktop PC. But wifi may be real useful for others that don't tweak images.

Comments about PowerShot ELPH 330 HS Digital Camera (Black):

I've now owned this product long enough to say it is a decent little camera. Not as good as my older Elph point and shoot that had a few extra features, but still worth the purchase price. It has a nice size display, takes good quality images and is a handy size. The compartment where you plug in the USB cable to upload images to your computer is a little bit flimsy and I don't trust that I won't break it sooner or later. There is some shutter lag and I get blurred images pretty regularly if I'm not careful with my subjects, so I wouldn't recommend this camera if you are shooting anything faster than a turtle. Also, my old Elph was silver and was a little easier to spot if I chucked it into my backpack. All in all though, it is a good little entry level point and shoot camera for the money and I still prefer it to a similar Nikon my husband uses that is about the same price.

My only complaint might be that the menus and buttons don't seem to be as intuitive as on older cameras. Most everything is on an internal menu somewhere.

Comments about PowerShot ELPH 330 HS Digital Camera (Black):

I bought this camera because my other Canon point and shoot is about to go. I like the size of it and the quality of the images are very good/clear. (for a point and shoot) It has a lot of different features and is very user friendly. I have always purchased Canon cameras and will continue to do so. The only thing I wish it had was a viewfinder. I am very excited to take it on my trip rather than lugging around my big DSLR and extra lenses.

This is my 3rd Canon Elph. It takes good photos and is easy to use. HoweverI cannot get the WiFi to work and it does not have a manual setting to turn on the flash as with my Elph 750. Despite these issues I still gave it 3 stars.

Took this camera on a trip to South America. Needed something I could handle quickly, take great photos in all conditions and not be bulky but rather unnoticeable, light weight, able to fit into a pocket. This one did it all and more. Was absolutely amazed at the ease of use and numerous choices in such a small convenient camera. Totally satisfied with everything. So user friendly, the size is perfect for quick grab and shoot fast action shots or posed and videos all with no lag time. The zoom feature is fantastic, works quickly. Have used many types of cameras over the years and this so far is my favorite.
Take it with me everywhere, with me every day for taking those shots you never want to forget seeing. Great value!

Comments about PowerShot ELPH 330 HS Digital Camera (Black):

I bought this camera mainly for self vlogging on the go. After doing research for the best point and shoot for vlogging in the youtube community, everyone seem to have good remarks for the ELPH 330HS. I got it when it was on sale for $ since the updated model was just about to drop. it was a steal. The microphones are on the front of the camera so the audio quality is clear vlogging coupled with a 24mm at the wide end which is perfect when turning the camera onto yourself. Just keep in mind like what everyone else says that the microphones are sensitive and put up wind very easily. I don't mind since for those sections of my vlog, I cut and do voice overs. You will want at least 2 extra batteries because shooting video in FULL HD drains them pretty fast.

Comments about PowerShot ELPH 330 HS Digital Camera (Black):

So far I've found this to be a super camera, especially for a novice like myself. The pictures are sharp and clear. The camera's auto settings seem to take all the work out of shooting a picture with is great when you're in a hurry to get a shot. Setting up the wifi was a little awkward.

Comments about PowerShot ELPH 330 HS Digital Camera (Black):

We do a lot of general purpose photography during recreational outings, especially photo's of people in scenic settings and macro shots of flowers. We've never been strong on reading manuals so never get the most out of products we use, but since this was a newer version of a very old power shot we owned from years earlier, we figured the learning curve would be shorter. Well, we probably waited too many years and very little is the same in the layout of the menus and methods of accessing them. But its not bad to figure out, and if you are even inclined to read the manuals a little, I'm sure you will find this camera fine. I do wish there were a few more manual controls, but we knew this limitation going in to this purchase, and those limitations is clearly documented in other reviews. We love the quality of the photos for how we use them. The focus locks in on flowers that move slightly in the breeze, which is very helpful in doing macros. The battery was short lived, but that may be because we just purchased the camera and have only used it for one charge cycle. I'd recommend buying a second battery so you can have one charging while the other is being used.

Very happy with the image quality. Bought this in part for the WiFi function. The camera window app works likes a charm with my iPhone 5s (iOS 7.1)

I can very quickly upload images to my Flickr account and wirelessly to my computer. Just wish the 330 was compatible with the remote shooting feature in camera window. Have owner several ELPH series cameras and have always been impressed. This one is no exception.

I had an older PowerShot Elph camera and loved it. It was time to upgrade the camera and having loved the other one decided it best to get the updated model. This camera has stronger zoom, higher resolution and wifi. A pleasure to use.
