I was using this product for wedding processionals. I do not like the fact that you have to turn the camera and flash. Also, the flash does not sit high enough to eliminate red-eye. For weddings you don't have time to flip the camera, let alone the flash.

Comments about Custom Brackets Rapid Fire PRO Flash Rotating Bracket with 1/4"-20 Mount:

I had been waiting for someone to come out with this arcing design rather than the flip design, and I couldn't be happier. I bought it before I realized just how many fantastic design features it incorporates. The anti-rotation feature for the camera body is fully adjustable, the same for the flash shoe, and there are adjustments that allow the lens axis and flash to be in perfect alignment, as well as height adjustment. I have been using the QR rotating bracket since they first came out about 15 years ago and it still works perfectly. I plan to use this bracket for all of my hand-held work ( as it weighs about 1/3 what the QR bracket does) and continue to use the QR for my tripod work. I also purchased two of the 18inch Vello TTL flash cords, which are a perfect fit for this bracket as well as the QR.In their retracted form they span neatly from the body to the flash, and have just enough stretch for unrestricted rotation

Comments about Custom Brackets Rapid Fire PRO Flash Rotating Bracket with 1/4"-20 Mount:

I used the RF-PRO bracket with the canon 5D Mark III. I took some shot with the RF-PRO in both landscape and portrait and the results are
amazing. The RF-PRO is wonderful, no plastic, it is light weight, durable, convenient, easy rotation and easy to use. It stands up firmly when the fold leg is open. The canon 5D Mark III sits firmly and securely on the camera plate also the flash fits firmly on the flash plate. The camera plate can be adjusted to accommodate other DSL camera. I like where the flash sits, away from the forehead. When the RF-PRO is folded up it can be packed away in your camera bag very easily. I love this bracket. So if you are looking for a flash bracket, I recommend you get the RF-PRO.

After spending many hours researching flash brackets, I decided to get the Custom Brackets Rapid Fire. It's not cheap, but like they say "you get what you pay for". This thing is very light, easy to mount, easy to use and it doesn't take much space to store. Custom Brackets Rapid Fire is definitely worth the price.

Comments about Custom Brackets Rapid Fire PRO Flash Rotating Bracket with 1/4"-20 Mount:

After using another low cost flash bracket that did not secure the camera from rotating against the bracket I decided to try a more sophisticated bracket and purchased the Rapid Fire PRO Flash Rotating Bracket. Having now used this flash bracket at a party taking 250 photos of people, I am not disappointed. This bracket is ruggedly built and when folded for storage very compact. Being make from aluminun it is very light weight. The geometry of the bracket assures that it does not interfere with the position of your hands on the camera. The position of the flash is far enough from the lens axis so no red eye was found in all the photos of people that I took.
I did have some problems with the bracket, however. My camera is a new Olympus OM-D E-M1 which has a body that is smaller than a standard Canon or Nikon DSLR. Because of the smaller body size the brackets' two clamps that press against the camera body to keep it from rotating in the bracket could not be adjusted properly. The camera was not secured until I added some pieces of plastic tubing over the clamps to increase their size so they would snug up against the camera body. My biggest complaint against the bracket, however, is the stiffness of the detents that keep the flash in position at the two ends of travel on the bracket. It takes considerable effort to overcome the detents hold. I was worried that if I pushed against the flash body itself to move the flash I would break the plastic foot on the flash or break the plastic foot on the extension cord for the flash. I trained myself to only push on the metal parts of the bracket when rotating the flash from one position to another. Also, I added a small amount of grease to the track of the rotating part of the bracket and this made the bracket detents slide a bit easier. It is because of the stiff detents that I have demoted the rating to 4 stars.
Some will complain that the bracket is too expensive. Yes, it is expensive but when you look at the number of components in the design and their complexity and the robustness of the design then I think it is fairly priced.

Comments about Custom Brackets Rapid Fire PRO Flash Rotating Bracket with 1/4"-20 Mount:

They thought of everything when they designed this bracket. Like other brackets, it keeps the flash in the right position above the camera in portrait or landscape position. The bracket snaps nicely into place in both positions and what's key is there's a cutaway for your left hand to zoom or even focus manually (which I've had to do when shooting parties with low light). Build quality is great and it folds up so it's easy to fit into my bag. I've had other brackets that were awkward to store. The height adjustment makes it perfect for a body with or without a battery grip. I didn't buy the quick release plate yet but I probably will.

Comments about Custom Brackets Rapid Fire PRO Flash Rotating Bracket with 1/4"-20 Mount:

I am using this bracket with my Sony A77, to connect the flash on it, so avoid any weight on the camera hot shoe which is sadly a bit weak to handle heavy flashes.

So I really like the build quality of this bracket and how compact it is. The rotation flash bracket is also very appreciated.

The problems I have seen while using this bracket with my Sony A77, is that the 2 anti twist brackets for the camera mount plate cannot be adjusted sideways, in fact they are touching my AF buttons on the camera body.

The other reason which stopped me from giving this product 5 stars is the price! the price is really high compared with similar Pro brackets.
