I am a semi-pro photographer who had this dome shade on my 8" dome port for 5 years with no problems coming off. One day, a kid flying a kite across the parking lot near the dive site tripped over my tank and cracked the dome shade. But that is what you want it to do, protect the $500+ dome! The one I bought in 2006 to replace the original one is still in action. This shade will not show up when using fisheye lenses and offers protection to your dome when getting close to the reef or your subject. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but all underwater photography equipment is.

doesn't even really screw into the dome...just scratches it up on the ridged side of the dome.
a semi big wave will knock it off the dome easy.
Flimsy plastic construction.
save your money...looks super cool when its on the camera from a distance, but its really a sub standard product.
