Big time wow. I wish everything I've purchased for my photography and filmmaking needs had the kind of value this piece of equipment has. I originally purchased it because it looked like a great compromise of weight and stability for long time exposure photos I take when camping in the desert, and that it certainly is. It's heavier than the carbon fibre version, but I wanted that extra pound and a half or whatever it is, so I don't mind packing it. But the big surprise came when I thought to take off the ball head and throw on a cheap but decent fluid head for video (I used the Fancier FT-717AH, it's what most people get for their sliders). With this combo, I can easily support my C100 with a 17-55 lens on it, and it's totally stable. I can put the camera in a backpack, put the tripod/fluid head combo in the underseat storage of my Vespa, and go anywhere in town with a pretty amazing little setup. I don't think I'd rig it up with rails and lots of other gear, but why would I... I've got a heavy duty setup for that. In short, the build quality of this is really satisfying, and it's going to get used a lot for both photo and video. I don't see how it could be any better without moving to a similar Gitzo at 2 or 3 times the price, and I'm not sure you'd get that much better of a tripod. Forget the "comparable" Manfroto. For a little over $[$], this is one of the best made objects I own.

This tripod is great for such a light weight, portable tripod. If you are looking for a basic photo or time lapse tripod, then this is a great option!
However, if you are in need of something for any video, I would not recommend this item. The head does not give you enough fluid to pan or tilt correctly. Also, there is no pan-handle so this makes it difficult to do any type of move.
Overall, this is great for being convenient, but if you are buying for video, then look past this series.

Great tripod for the price. Fits easily into my Lowepro backpack. Ease of use is very good, two minutes from in the bag to taking shots. Easily supported my Canon 5D with a 100-400 mm lens attached. A level would be a nice addition. Need a coin or a small screwdriver to mount the plate to the camera.

I purchased my Globe Trotter Travel Tripod following very good referals on your website. I am very pleased with the tripod. It is a very clever and compact unit. I bought the Tripod for travel use and have only used it around home for the moment. I am looking forward to a visit to Gemany in November and the tripod will be in my camera bag. The tripod is very compact and very well made. Agreat unit. Also, many thanks to B&H Photo& Video for your excellent service as I reside in Sydney, Australia, a long way fro NYC.

Comments about GlobeTrotter Travel Tripod Kit (Black):

I needed to retire an old tripod with some proprietary QR plate, but really didn't need a giant, bulky tripod. This MeFOTO GlobeTrotter looked nice, has a Arca-Swiss ball head, and many people gave it good reviews, so I took a chance on it. I was surprised at how well built it feels. The legs lock firmly with a small twist, as does the head on my RRS L-plate. Don't fall for the unknown name or "nothing good comes out of China" hype. MeFOTO is a Benro company, and you won't be disappointed with this tripod!

I chose A2350 Globetrotter (Black) for good reasons. I'm new to serious photography. I've explored tripods up to $. I was looking for best value for my budget with these features: Compact and light enough to carry in a suitcase, Tall enough so I don't bend my arthritic back to use it, EZ ball head and legs strong and stable enough to set up quickly and won't vibrate in a breeze. Lastly, I don't want to waste my retirement years and limited $ owning multiple tripods. I almost purchased A1350 Road Trip for less $ but it's a little bit too short for my comfort. I like the color selections but I chose traditional black.

Perfect travel tripod. The included head is nice and smooth, and easy to use. Bubble level makes it nice to setup for pano shots.
Little heavy, but for extra, you can get the carbon fiber version.
Easily holds my 5DM3 with 70-200mm 2.8 attached.
Can easily be converted into a monopod.

I have been using it with a D610,24-70mm lens with sb910 flash and the Nikon grip and everything was pretty sturdy and stable. I was very surprised how small the carrying case was but yes, it does fold up very small. Great value !

After much research I choose this tripod for an extensive trip. While not a carbon fiber lightweight, it comes in at a low packing size and travel weight. It extends to a reasonable height for a 6'4" photographer and sports a capable ball head for a weighty Canon 5D mark III DSLR. Loved the price as well.

I love this little tripod. It's light-weight and compact. I've been using it for travel and I love the space and weight that it saves me. It's very stable. I generally use it with my 5D3 and medium size lenses. It also has an Arca-Swiss plate which is a plus.

Used for back yard bird photo shots and field wildlife shots with long telephoto lens. It sets up quick and easy. Backpacks easy. Wish the spike feet where not a separate item.

Really really well built, strong, stable, lightweight and compact. Great for travel. I used hiking with my 5d mark iii and a 70-200mm 2.8 and it worked perfectly! Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I was extremly surprised how strong the pan locks are. You don't have to use a lot of strength to tighten the pan locks, might not be such a good example, but I think a 3 year old can tighten the pan locks and the camera stays in place. I took this tripod for a mini vacation to the coast and took pictures with a timer because I dislike having to stop a stranger, because I want to be in the picture, and ask them to take a picture of us. I love the portability, stability, and the height. The weight is light for its height and the construction is very good.

Comments about GlobeTrotter Travel Tripod Kit (Titanium):

This is a great little tripod that fold up to a very small and portable size. I was especially attracted to the 26.4lb weight capacity as I use two of these to hold a Kessler Krane Shuttle Pod Mini slider with a Sony FS100 and various large lenses. It remarkably stable.

                                        I only have 2 issues:

                                        1) I wish the quick release plate was bigger so it's more stable with larger equipment on it. It should also have a small pin to avoid rotation.

                                        2) It would be nice if the legs had more than 2 lock locations so it's just that little bit more versatile. The 1st setting does not get the legs quite wide enough when the legs are retracted for it to be completely stable.

These are minor niggles though, and overall this is a great tripod and I'm very happy with the purchase!

Comments about GlobeTrotter Travel Tripod Kit (Black):

I was looking for a tripod that was easier to carry around, to commute on the subways with, but not too bulky. I am 6'2" tall, so I went with the GlobeTrotter as opposed to the RoadTripper, as it gave me a little more height. Using this to hold up a Canon 60D with a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens, and it does it very well.

The tripod folds up small, and easily is carried in the included case. Very easy to setup and collapse. Very happy with this investment, the camera is held steady, able to capture 30sec and longer exposure with no shake so far.

This was an add on purchase to a Nikon 70-200 lens. This tripod is very solid and all clips and moving parts very well made. It's plenty strong enough to support the weight of the 70-200mm. I especially love that it converts to a very sturdy monopod.
