Big time wow. I wish everything I've purchased for my photography and filmmaking needs had the kind of value this piece of equipment has. I originally purchased it because it looked like a great compromise of weight and stability for long time exposure photos I take when camping in the desert, and that it certainly is. It's heavier than the carbon fibre version, but I wanted that extra pound and a half or whatever it is, so I don't mind packing it. But the big surprise came when I thought to take off the ball head and throw on a cheap but decent fluid head for video (I used the Fancier FT-717AH, it's what most people get for their sliders). With this combo, I can easily support my C100 with a 17-55 lens on it, and it's totally stable. I can put the camera in a backpack, put the tripod/fluid head combo in the underseat storage of my Vespa, and go anywhere in town with a pretty amazing little setup. I don't think I'd rig it up with rails and lots of other gear, but why would I... I've got a heavy duty setup for that. In short, the build quality of this is really satisfying, and it's going to get used a lot for both photo and video. I don't see how it could be any better without moving to a similar Gitzo at 2 or 3 times the price, and I'm not sure you'd get that much better of a tripod. Forget the "comparable" Manfroto. For a little over $[$], this is one of the best made objects I own.

I bought this tripod for travel and I really like how compact it is. However, weight is just as important as size for a travel tripod and this one is really heavy. The plate on top of the ball head is not great either. Of all the tripods I own this is the only one that has forced me to fuss with the plate to make absolutely sure my camera is secure. I think I'll just rip the bandaid and invest in a compact carbon fiber tripod from Gitzo or Manfrotto.

      Great deal and versatile

      By Caleb

Comments about GlobeTrotter Aluminum Travel Tripod Kit (Titanium):

The monopod is a nice addition to be able to fall back on if you ca use a tripod. My first tripod was a Manfrotto 3021 with the pistol grip ball head. This is about half the folded length, and half the wight. That is great for traveling. The trade off is its not as steady, but as the saying goes a tripod can be cheap, light, or sturdy. Choose two. I wish the leg licks were levers. The knobs makes setup a little slow. The two position leg angle locks would be a lot easier if they were like the Manfrotto I'm used to, but simplicity helps keep the cost down. One thing I'll miss between this one and my 3021 is that if can't get as close to the ground. It has a short column if you want to spend extra for that though.I wished the ball head base was slightly larger than the mating part of the tripod stem. If it was knurled that would make it easier to tighten down. I've noticed that it has come loose a few times on me. I'll probably just locktite it. The additional spiked feet are nice to have in case I need them. It would be nice to have a base plate that doesn't need a coin to install or remove. All in all it's not a bad little tripod. It's not the best, it does have all the bells and whistles, but it's probably one of the better [$] small travel tripods I've seen.

Comments about GlobeTrotter Aluminum Travel Tripod Kit (Red):

After much research and agonizing over what tripod I should get I actually decided to buy the GlobeTrotter instead of the Backpacker. This is my first tripod and I felt and still feel confident in my choice. PRO: I'm not exactly a salaried photographer so I needed something that was very economical and this is. The fact that it's a tripod and a monopod definitely sold me even more and I feel that I can still express myself with my gear while remaining professional.CON: Having the leveler being covered and not having a handle to making panning easy is a little bit of a pain. Honestly, these are definitely little things that I can live with. Overall I'm happy with the GlobeTrotter.

Was my first tripod with these kind of leg lock and was somewhat clueless when one of the part of the leg fell off on the floor, along with small white pieces of plastic. Screwing too tight when you fold the legs back in will get some parts to not unfold out when you unscrew it, but is easy to get used to it. You have to be 'delicate' with these locks.Rubber feet will slip on some smooth surfaces. Other than that everything is nice, it's very compact, main reason I got this tripod. Is well built and load capacity is excelent. The ball head is very good.

The monopod is also really solid, so no worries if you like to shoot with big glass. And as always thanks to B&H for excellent and expeditious service.

Great tripod for the price. Fits easily into my Lowepro backpack. Ease of use is very good, two minutes from in the bag to taking shots. Easily supported my Canon 5D with a 100-400 mm lens attached. A level would be a nice addition. Need a coin or a small screwdriver to mount the plate to the camera.

I purchased my Globe Trotter Travel Tripod following very good referals on your website. I am very pleased with the tripod. It is a very clever and compact unit. I bought the Tripod for travel use and have only used it around home for the moment. I am looking forward to a visit to Gemany in November and the tripod will be in my camera bag. The tripod is very compact and very well made. Agreat unit. Also, many thanks to B&H Photo& Video for your excellent service as I reside in Sydney, Australia, a long way fro NYC.

I needed to retire an old tripod with some proprietary QR plate, but really didn't need a giant, bulky tripod. This MeFOTO GlobeTrotter looked nice, has a Arca-Swiss ball head, and many people gave it good reviews, so I took a chance on it. I was surprised at how well built it feels. The legs lock firmly with a small twist, as does the head on my RRS L-plate. Don't fall for the unknown name or "nothing good comes out of China" hype. MeFOTO is a Benro company, and you won't be disappointed with this tripod!

I chose A2350 Globetrotter (Black) for good reasons. I'm new to serious photography. I've explored tripods up to $. I was looking for best value for my budget with these features: Compact and light enough to carry in a suitcase, Tall enough so I don't bend my arthritic back to use it, EZ ball head and legs strong and stable enough to set up quickly and won't vibrate in a breeze. Lastly, I don't want to waste my retirement years and limited $ owning multiple tripods. I almost purchased A1350 Road Trip for less $ but it's a little bit too short for my comfort. I like the color selections but I chose traditional black.

Perfect travel tripod. The included head is nice and smooth, and easy to use. Bubble level makes it nice to setup for pano shots.
Little heavy, but for extra, you can get the carbon fiber version.
Easily holds my 5DM3 with 70-200mm 2.8 attached.
Can easily be converted into a monopod.

Used on very harsh conditions (very windy) and still coped with it all. Good weight balance. Also it folds to a very handy size so is easy to walk around with.

Very nice and compact. Love that the tripod converts to a monopod. I have been using it with a D610,24-70mm lens with sb910 flash and the Nikon grip and everything was pretty sturdy and stable. I was very surprised how small the carrying case was but yes, it does fold up very small. Great value !
