The Zacuto C-Shooter is a quick, easy shoulder-mount rig for Canon EOS C100/C300/C500 cameras. This rig features a Studio Baseplate for Canon cameras with 12" (30.48cm) rods that run through the length of the baseplate. The rods can slide back and forth to accommodate different lenses and accessories by turning the red levers at the side of the plate. Furthermore, the comfortable shoulder pad slides on the rods for comfort and ease of use. A 3.5lb (1.5kg) weight sits behind the shoulder pad for counterbalance.
As the Studio Baseplate is flat, the center of gravity remains low. This baseplate features a pair of 15mm rods that are 12” (30.48cm) long. On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15mm holes. The side holes take 15mm female rods that are locked via an Allen screw. This gives users a huge amount of mounting options. With these side holes, you have the option of turning the baseplate into a cage configuration. Or, you could mount a Zwiss Plate (sold separately) with professional batteries off of the side of the baseplate, via 2 female/female rods, when shooting on a tripod for better balance. When not using a cage configuration, the side holes can be used for an EVF, Zacuto articulating arms, rods, and more. The baseplate also has standard 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 holes on the bottom for mounting the rig onto a tripod.
The Studio Baseplate attaches to the camera with 3/8”-16 and 1/4”-20 screws. This baseplate is suitable for a rig like the Stinger or an advanced tripod rig with rods coming off of the back end for external power, etc.
Attached to the front of the rods is the ENG Grip Relocator for the Canon C100/300/500 cameras. The ENG Grip Relocator features a 15mm lightweight rod mount designed to put the grip directly to the side of the rods. The Canon removable camera grip attaches directly to the Grip Relocator, and the 24" long cable connects to the port on your camera. Once its plugged in, users have trigger or on/off control, lens aperture control, and a programmable function button that can be used to set to a number of parameters including waveform, 1 to 1 zoom, zebras, my menu, and more.
The screw hole pattern on the Studio Baseplate is 1/4”-20, 3/8”-16, 3/8”-16, 3/8”-16. To mount the C300/100/500 camera, you will use the 1/4”-20 and the first 3/8”-16 screw holes. The Baseplate will ship with one 1/4”-20 screw and one 3/8”-16 screw.
The Grip Relocator can also be used with the C500. However, the C500 camera does not come with the Canon Grip. You must purchase that separately.
