I am not crazy about 400 speed film. I have pretty fast lenses and it's generally not worth the loss of detail. I know there are a lot of Fuji acolytes out there, too, and I thought I would be one of them as well.
I like this film all right. It's my default film for my Pentax K1000 because the winding mechanism in my K1000 won't accept Kodak or other cheap films. I shot some test rolls this weekend with an old Minolta and the Fuji did all right, but the colors of the Kodak Gold I was using just murdered the Fuji.
Fuji looks really green on the scanner before processing and prints out sort of lifeless. My shots of the ground in landscapes come out brownish and greenish, at turns. It's consistent film which is fantastic, but I'm consistently nonplussed with some of the colors.
That being said, the film is so economical that it doesn't really matter. I buy about 15-20 rolls of this stuff a month and just practice, practice with it. It's wonderful film to learn on because you don't stress over the low cost per frame. It makes taking pictures fun and low-stress, and I think that's a big compliment.

I shoot most of my film in available light. Fuji Superia 400 print film is a very good general purpose film for the variable lighting conditions I encounter. It also gives me great results at those times when I must use electronic flash on my camera.

I'm using the film for a color darkroom class and so far I haven't encountered any problems. I picked the film based on other recommendations, so I recommend it as well, especially for 35mm darkroom use.

Comments about Fujifilm CH 135-24 Fujicolor Superia 400 Color Print Film (ISO-400):
I'm a regular everyday normal street photographer/fine art photographer and i've been looking for a good, CHEAP all round color film to use, now that Kodak prices are going up. This Fujicolor stuff is dirt cheap and brings home the bacon. Of course it depends on the lens but it gives sharp results with me, with very fine grain unless you push it in low light (like any other film really), and is just great. I also like 24-exposure film for some reason, I like the limitations that make you think about your next photograph, and it helps you make it count.
I really can't think of any negatives about this film... Well the CVS across the street from me doesn't develop fim anymore but that's not Fuji's fault. I love this film. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I've been on a quest for a film that I enjoy and this fit the bill. The colors are good (not as good as slide film, but this is cheaper for me). The grain structure of this film is excellent and very pleasing.

Comments about Fujifilm CH 135-24 Fujicolor Superia 400 Color Print Film (ISO-400):
This is one more decent ISO 400 color film, but unlike others, there's something strangely unreal about the way it renders green grass. All other colors are fine, if not intense, but green looks a bit strange in prints made from this film. It may be my lab, but in any event, I know what to expect about the look of grassy areas when I'm using this film. Otherwise, it's good, comes in handy, and works perfectly fine in my Leica bodies.

Unless there is good lighting, your colors WILL look terrible. But that's color film. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot any product can do to avoid that.
I also rate my film at 300 instead of 400 because manufacturers tend to exaggerate the speed of their film.
I use this film every day and have gotten good results. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a dependable product.
