Comments about Crucial 120GB M500 2.5" Internal SSD:

Product used in a Core i3 Haswell chip with SATA3 extremely small format. comes with stick on adapter for laptops with thicker drive caddy.

Have used in the past Crucial M4 drives in MAC/PC and they are still going strong today.

Comments about Crucial 120GB M500 2.5" Internal SSD:

I installed this SSD into my Late 2008 Macbook Pro. With the original HDD, running Parallels 9 with Windows 7 along side Mac OS X 10.9, my computer would come to a grinding halt. Boot and shut down times took several minutes and opening MS Office on Mac OS X would take 30 seconds or more.

With the SSD, I can run Parallels and Mac without any noticeable drop in performance, boot times are less than 30 seconds, and applications open almost immediately. I've also got a 128GB Crucial M4 in another computer and the performance between the two is identical as far as I can tell. Yes, they are rated for different read/write speeds. However, for the general consumer either drive will yield the same visible performance. You're probably talking milliseconds in performance differences.

I definitely recommend this drive as the first upgrade for your aging computer if you're looking to give it a speed boost. Additional RAM is always good too but it won't supercharge your computer as much as an SSD will.

My Macbook Pro mid-2010 had slowed down significantly. Replaced the HDD with this, and it was like having a new computer. Can't comment on the long term reliability, but great so far.

harddrive in 1.5 yr old laptop was dying so I replaced it with this SSD, it was easy to install, it is fast, and, to my surprise, the system backup tool that I created when I got the laptop new worked and I was able to basically restore that system to factory system load. This is a Dell, so there was lots of bloatware but with the SSD everything runs so much faster ... now I'm thinking to put SSDs in all my other computers :)

Boot/shut down/application access times all dropped dramatically.
Windows experience index jumped 0.7 points from switching hard drive to SSD alone.
Always have used Crucial and never have had a problem with them.
Easy to duplicate hard drive with optional transfer cable and cd.
Definitely gives new life to older pcs so that it'll last you a little bit longer.
I put this one on my wife's Lenovo laptop that is a few years old.
