      Comments about IRIScan Mouse Scanner:

Product does not scan as advertised. I found it to be totally usless and would not advise anyone to waste their money purchasing the mouse. I spent hours trying to scan a 8 x 11 sheet of paper and was unable to get a decent copy of the document. Do NOT buy. Try another way to scan.

      Comments about IRIScan Mouse Scanner:

      1) This replaces a standard mouse for use anytime.
      2) When needed, I just click the button (I don't have the program launch until I need it, so it takes a bit longer). I have been able to use it to scan receipts into pictures and to scan pages that I can edit in Microsoft Word.
It took some practice at first, including the necessity of having the mouse plugged directly into the USB port (it did not run on a branch hub or port. Although I don't need it a lot, it is easier to carry than trying to juggle a separate scanner; I also have not found ANYTHING else like it for scanning actual words for editing.

      Comments about IRIScan Mouse Scanner:

This is a large mouse, but a small scanner. The software is very good, yet apparently the IRIS people intentionally crippled it. Once scanned you click "paste as text" and accurate OCR is almost immediately put into your word processor. Click save and a picture (PNG, JPG) is saved. You may not use the saved picture of print to do OCR with the included sofware, later. Scanning is not difficult, but it take some learning. It is best if the material is flat. If you need to scan the left pages in a book, you must do it upside down, the scan window is on the left edge of the mouse, so it bumps the center ridge before it reaches the right edge of the page. The software will let you turn it back over. With all of this, it should be clear that I recommend a flatbed scanner for home and office. I got mine to do archive-library work. As a result the inability to use saved images for OCR is a big disadvantage. I will be doing direct OCR on everything and saving the image for corrections.

so easy to use I don't even bother with my other scanner anymore

plus, i always felt guilty about throwing away my batteries and now don't need to worry about it

              Comments about IRIScan Mouse Scanner:

It's funny how mice and scanners have existed for decades yet the combination of the two amazes me as much as when MFP's started to hit the market a while back. A scanning mouse makes total sense. As I put in the title, I find it very clever. The way I use it: there is nothing paper made crossing my desk that isn't swallowed alive by my wide open gaping scanning mouse!

My husband bought this for me and I'm glad he did.
The product is great! I use it every minute as a regular mouse, and everyday as a scanner. One of my friend thought a USB connected mouse was uncool, I replied: "let's pick up the conversion next time you need to buy batteries". Love it!

                Comments about IRIScan Mouse Scanner:

I have a mouse and I also have a scanner, but I don't mind having them both available at the same time. This idea is genius! Based on my first day experimenting with it, I give it a perfect score. After installing the software, you plug the mouse and the only thing you really have do is to click on the side button to trigger the scanner. In other words, you continually use it as your mouse until you side-click and scan. Very well designed with simple to use interface.
