The 1TB Lorex LH3481001 Edge3 8-Channel 960H Technology Security DVR features a 960H recording resolution that bridges the gap between the standard and the high-definition video surveillance systems.

When connected with a quick and easy internet setup wizard to your smartphone, tablet, PC, or Mac, you can connect, view, and control your entire system from anywhere in the world, using the dedicated free Lorex Apps. The touch-friendly interface of the Edge3 is easy to use and is compatible with Windows 8, allowing you to remotely monitor your system.

The 960H recording resolution ensures high-quality live-viewing and recording, thus giving a sharp, undistorted image with a true aspect ratio that enhances surveillance.

Thanks to the mirror recording function, footage can be simultaneously recorded by connecting the DVR to an external USB hard drive (up to 2TB, sold separately) that can be stored in a locked location. Alternatively, the external USB hard drive (sold separately) allows you to increase the storage capacity of your system.

          Comments about Lorex LH3481001 Edge3 8-Channel 960H Technology Security DVR (1TB):

B&H Photo: fast shipment & price is about 25% less than [*]. I thought I did my research & was motivated by the described functionality of the LOREX DVR. Unfortunately, I found the unit difficult to use & unreliable. I have requested a refund from B&H Photo.I bought this LOREX DVR: to upgrade from another brand DVR. My big motivations were: easy Internet configuration & true D1 recording. HOWEVER, I never got to the Internet part because basic configuration process was a BEAR & the DVR failed after about 5 days of use.All I wanted to do was set the cameras to motion detection only, playback events, & connect to the Internet. The factory setting is for continuous recording with adjustments for working & non-working hours. Obviously targeted toward businesses & not homeowners. The manual is organized by technical function not end user requirements. Consequently, it took a lot of hours of reading & digging out how to change settings.Once through the process, I found that PLAYBACK is not part of the main menu rather a bar at the bottom of the screen. The BIG design problem is that when you playback an event it does not automatically advance to the next event. You must wait until time passes for the next event or go back to the event list & launch the next event. The means if there is a 2 hour delay between events, you either sit & wait for 2 hours to pass or go back to the event list & launch the next event. Perhaps there is a hidden setting & a box to check but I could not find it & that should be the default anyway. BUT THEN THE DVR FAILED. About day 4 Playback would only display bright colored bars * no pictures. I rebooted the system. A day later, the recorded event showed the picture except at the top of the screen there was a bar of colors & graphics. The next day, after launching an EVENT from the event list, the DVR did not playback rather it would only display 1 still image, HOWEVER, the progress bar continued to run.An additional design issue is that the EVENT LIST takes up a large area in the center of the screen. This blocks viewing the 1st frame of an event (described as a special feature of the software), which makes that feature worthless. But then that feature frequently does not work. You just see the LOREX logo anyway. On a more positive note, the PLAYBACK resolution was excellent, when the DVR worked. The fan is noticeable but can be adjusted through the software. The wireless mouse I used on my other DVR would not work. The cable inferred receiver was too short to go from the DVR to the monitor. All 8 BNC connectors are in 1 row, which makes it easy to use. The motion detection settings allow you to pinpoint small areas which is helpful, assuming they function correctly. LOREX back to the drawing board.
