LG's PB63U Portable WXGA LED Projector with Built-In Digital TV Tuner allows you to watch TV shows and movies like you are at the cinema. The long lasting LED light source lets you enjoy up to 30,000 hours of entertainment while delivering a wider color range and deeper color saturation than traditional lamps. And, with WiDi, it's easy to share content from your compatible laptop to your projector.

Its native resolution is WXGA (1280 x 800). It can also project video images in the NTSC, PAL and SECAM television standards. In addition it can handle both 720p and 1080p high definition programming. And its 100 to 240 V AC, 50/60Hz power supply makes is useable just about anywhere in the world.

Lastly, the PB63U has a convenient operational feature. It is called direct quick on/off. Quick on/off is set to activate as soon as power is supplied to the projector. The caveat here is that there is no need to go through standby mode to start the projector. Quick on/off allows users to turn off the power supply to the projector immediately, instead of going through a power down cycle. This allows for shutting it down and moving it quickly.

Comments about LG PB63U Portable WXGA LED Projector with Built-In Digital TV Tuner:

I owned the Optoma ML500 for 2 years and recently replaced it with the LG PB63U.The ML500 had great image quality but the LG is meets or beats the image quality and much more. Right out of the box I can tell the attention to detail. All of the items below were noticeably better than the ML500.1. The soft case is really nice and has extra room for accesories.2. The overall size of the unit is ridiculously small. So tiny and lightweight, it has no celiing bracket mounting holes, just a standard camera mount.3. The fit and finish of the outer plastic housing is designed like a visual product, not just a projector.4. The focus wheel is tight and stops right where you want it.5. The onscreen menu is simple to use.6. The fan is is quiet. This increases with economy setting. Since brightness is hardly increased by reducing economy setting, its not worth the slightly louder fan. 7. Seems brighter than the ML500 but not really sure about that. I haven't tried the tuner or wifi connect yet.You have to know what you are getting with brightness. Obviously, it is not incandescent. But I want to treat the projector like a TV and not worry about a $ bulb going out. Also, I don't want the projector to be a space heater. I've read opinions that say why not get one of the cheaper incandescent projectors that have cheaper bulbs. One of the recommendations was a $ projector which uses $ bulbs. What happens when the bulb goes out at 1000 hours instead of 5000...who do you complain to?With all of the talk online about rainbow effect, color saturation and many specifics between proectors, I don't know how this one stacks up...but I don't care, it looks beautiful. The projector was $, the bottom end @ powered speakers and sub was about $. Looks and sounds great. There is one con...it deserves a better name than PB63U.

Comments about LG PB63U Portable WXGA LED Projector with Built-In Digital TV Tuner:

The Good:I'm using the projector for tracing my artwork onto walls and ceilings in preparation for airbrushing murals. The projector is excellent. 500 lumen seems very bright for my purposes. The image is crisp and clean as well. It is small, lightweight, and very portable especially with the WiDi connection option (more on that later). Paired with a Joby Gorilla Pod, I can project from just about anywhere. Overall the projector is a great buy. With the automatic keystone correction, I don't even have to fiddle to get a great picture. Love knowing the LED light source will be around for a long time (I don't like the idea of paying $[$]+ for a bulb, especially for a portable projector which has a higher chance of blowing bulbs). The Bad:The WiDi connection was broke right out of the box. The LG AN-WF100 WiFi Dongle (included with the projector) was defective. After contacting LG support via telephone(more on that later), a new WiFi dongle is being sent to me. As of writing this review, it hasn't arrived yet.The Ugly:Where do I start? I guess I will start with the emails back and forth with tech support. Several days of emailing was unfruitful. It was apparent the "tech" was copy/pasting standard protocol. It wasn't even helpful standard jargon, just stuff like "READ PAGE X OF THE USER MANUAL" or "THE USB DONGLE WILL ALLOWS CONNECT WITH SUPPORTED LAPTOP" Really? A total waste of time.I finally called their 800 number, and was transferred to the "correct department" FOUR different times. It seemed this particular model number carried a plague with it. Nobody wanted to acknowledge it existed. "that's not our department … I'll transfer you." I finally talked to someone who could barely speak above a light mumble, and that was spoken in semi-intelligible English. I spent over an hour on the phone with this gentleman to finally have him determine the WiFi Dongle was defective. I was told I would receive a new on by mail withing 7-14 days.Summary:Projector ... ExcellentQuality of included accessories ... disappointingCustomer service... awful!

Comments about LG PB63U Portable WXGA LED Projector with Built-In Digital TV Tuner:

I got this projector along with a HDTV antenna, it works great for daily TV programs. With the window blind down, 500 lumens is bright enough. I have tested with connecting to USB drive, watching MP4 video is not a problem at all.

The only missing feature I would say is WiFi. Although it comes with WiDi, I don't have laptop which comes with WiDi. If this projector can wirelessly connected to any NAS, router, or even IPhone hotspot, that will be perfect!!!!
