The D-444 Low Glow Infrared Game Camera from Moultrie is a trail camera that is designed to capture clear photos and video of wildlife with its 8MP CMOS image sensor. It has a passive infrared motion sensor that triggers the shutter to take a photo or start recording video at 640 x 480 resolution and 24 fps. Trigger speed is less than 1 sec. Illumination is provided by the built-in Low Glow 26-LED flash, which has an effective range of up to 80' at night. The camera is capable of time-lapse photography and can shoot at up to 3 fps. It's equipped with a small LCD text screen for menu navigation. Phase of the moon, temperature, time and date are stamped onto your images. The D-444 records files to an SD or SDHC memory card up to 32GB in capacity and runs on six C-cell alkaline batteries (not included).

8MP Resolution
At the heart of the camera is a CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 8MP
PIR Motion Sensor
Passive infrared sensor detects the changes in temperature that occur when subjects move and captures images in response. Choose from 15 or 30 sec or 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 min for the delay setting
Video Recording
Capture movies in 640 x 480 resolution @ 24 fps. Video length is 5, 15 or 30 sec during the day and 20 sec at night
Low-Light Shooting
Illuminate subjects with the built-in Low Glow 26-LED flash, which has an effective range of up to 80' at night
Time-Lapse Photography
The camera captures a series of images at specified intervals of 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 sec or 2 or 5 min twice per day, and then combines them to create a time lapse video, which is viewable on the downloadable Plot Stalker software. The first of the time lapse images is captured 15 min before sunrise, and the second series ends 15 min after sunset. The camera can still be motion-triggered to take photos under certain settings while in time lapse mode. Time lapse duration can be set to 1, 2, 3 or 4 hr
Hybrid Cam Mode
The camera operates in time lapse mode during the day and switches to motion detect mode 30 min after dusk
Continuous Shooting
Can shoot at up to 3 fps or capture up to 4 shots in a 1-2 sec sequence
LCD
Small text screen for menu navigation
Date, Time and Temperature Stamp
The camera records the date and time of capture on your images, as well as the temperature at that time
Moon Phase Stamp
The camera stores moon phase data on its internal memory chip. By recording the phase of the moon at the time of capture on your photo, it allows you to see which animals are inactive during a full or nearly-full moon--when the brighter lighting conditions will make them more visible to predators. Moon phase also helps you determine if brighter or darker backgrounds in your images are due to the fullness of the moon
Connectivity
Features a mini-USB port (cable sold separately) and an external power port for the optional Moultrie PowerPanel or Battery Box
Memory
Accepts SD/SDHC cards up to 32GB in capacity
Security Code
Prevents unauthorized use of camera should it become lost or stolen by requiring entry of 5-digit code in order to be unlocked
Power
Runs on 6 C-cell batteries
Mounting
Compatible with EZ Tree Mount. Integrated strap loop is compatible with optional Python cable
Downloadable Plot Stalker Time Lapse Software
For viewing your time lapse videos. Pixel change sensitivity can be set to high, medium or low. Pixel change occurs when a change in color, intensity, lighting or movement is detected. This setting determines how easily you will be able to jump to desired frames

Comments about Moultrie D-444 Low Glow Infrared Game Camera:

My neighbor and I set up the game camera in a large wooded lot across the street, in order to capture video of the resident deer and fox.

The game camera works as advertised and I've had no major issues with it. The IR extends out to 50+ feet and the videos are well lit.

The only drawbacks that I've seen with this product are: 1. I've set it to take 30 second videos, yet it only records 20 seconds. 2. The videos are a bit pixilated, especially during the daytime.

I have yet to try out any other features of this camera. So far, I'm very satisfied with this game camera and would recommend it to anyone that asked.

Comments about Moultrie D-444 Low Glow Infrared Game Camera:

Not being new to trail cameras, I was expecting more. I would expect an 8MP camera to have a better photo quality. I currently have a 4MP trail camera that is several years old and it takes better photos. The night pictures are of the quality you would expect from an infrared. I do like the "low glow", as it emits a visible red light when it takes the night pictures. I also like the fact that it is small and compact and will last a long time with C cell batteries. The strap and buckle are of better quality than its predecessor, using a metal buckle vs plastic. Overall 3 stars.....
