The Sirui G-10X Ball Head is an extremely sturdy head with separate control knobs for pan, tilt, and tension, plus an Arca-style clamp for the included quick-release plate. The ball locks down extremely tightly thanks to the double-bevel locking system which allows support of cameras up to 39.6 lb and safe 90° tilting for portrait orientation. The quick-release clamp features a secondary release button that prevents any inadvertent disengagement of the camera/plate from the clamp, thereby adding to the head's overall security and stability.

Three separate controls (pan, tilt and lock) allow a photographer to exercise extremely fine control over the orientation of the camera, whether it's a DSLR, 35mm, medium-format camera, or even a camcorder. Pan, for instance, can be adjusted while the tilt stays locked, enabling precise movement that's measurable via degree markers for panoramic photography at the panning base.

The G-10X uses Computer Aided Manufacturing and an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy with a custom anodized surface treatment to ensure a durable, high-quality finish.

Precision Manufacturing
Sirui uses Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to produce a support ball with tolerances within 0.01 mm of a perfect sphere. This uncompromising precision ensures superior performance and smooth operation for any type of 35 mm DLSR or medium format camera system
Superior Construction Material
Sirui ball heads are made of aviation quality aluminum alloy 7075-T6 and 6067-T6 for long life and maximum strength. Quick release plates are made from forged aluminum alloy. The forging technique produces high-density metals with much greater strength than die-cast methods. Optional model specific plates are available
Control
The panning base is designed with a 360° dial. Having a separate panning base lock knob provides greater accuracy for panning and panoramic shooting
Secure Locking
The patented safety lock design, and Sirui quick release plates, effectively prevent the camera from accidentally sliding off of the ball head. Most Arca-style quick release plates can be used on Sirui ball heads
Durable Surface
The custom anodized surface treatment makes all metal surfaces highly resistant to abrasions and produces a beautiful appearance
High Load Capacity
Superior locking force allows support of loads up to 39.6 lb

Comments about Sirui G-10X Ball Head:

This was my first time shopping for a tripod and ball head, so after asking a B&H product rep for some advice, I ended up purchasing this ball head.On the plus side, it's easy to use. It's compact and fits in my tripod bag just fine.On the other hand, the control knobs take a little bit of time to get used to for remembering what it is that you're adjusting.I read that usually you leave the QR plate attached to your camera, but this plate is much too wide to leave on the Sony a6000. It would get in the way of the camera's tilting lcd screen and just be uncomfortable to shoot with, so for now I've left it off.Overall, I think I need to try out this ball head a bit more before giving my final verdict. It does feel solid, and comes with it's own padded bag which is nice.

Comments about Sirui G-10X Ball Head:

Replaced my Manfrotto ball head with this one from Sirui and I couldn't be happier! Very smooth and locks tight. One of the few in this price range with tension control. Using it with my Fujifilm X-Pro 1 and 55-200mm lens and it holds it with no problem. I am sure it can hold far more weight than I will ever put on it. Would gladly buy it again!

Comments about Sirui G-10X Ball Head:

On a recent trip to Italy I was not happy with the ball head i was using on my travel tripod. I wanted something just as small & compact for travel, but with strength & security that was missing in the one I had. The G-10X fit the bill perfectly. Quality At a great price.

Comments about Sirui G-10X Ball Head:

For me it strikes a perfect balance of portability and ability to securely hold somewhat heavy DSlR .
It is also cheaper than Italian stuff but works just as well..bad news for Gitzo I guess :)

Comments about Sirui G-10X Ball Head:

I recently purchased the Sirui-1204 Carbon Fiber Tripod due to the recommendations at B&H. I also bought at that time the Sirui K-10 ball head for the tripod but Sirui gives you a short extension for using very low angle and one of the legs from the tripod unscrews to become a very light weight monopod so I got the G-10X ball head because of its size. What a bargain. Locks down tight and very able to hold a Nikon D-7100 with Nikon 200mm f4 Macro on a Kirk Focus Rail with R1C1 kit attached. I am very impressed that at the low price for this ball head it even has a tension adjustment.I mostly use Manfrotto tripods because over the years they have never failed me even under the Bogen name. If you have to spend $ for a carbon fiber tripod with a famous name go ahead but investigate this line of first. I was very glad I listened to several of the reviewers at B&H.
