The Elinchrom Softlite 17" Reflector (Silver) is ideal for portrait and commercial photography where broad, soft, even lighting is required, but with more crispness than a softbox. A silver deflector for neutral color balance and a gold deflector for a warming effect are included to eliminate specular light from the flashtube and redirect it back into reflector.

This is a well priced beauty dish from Elinchrom.
Its size makes it portable and easy to carry around. The silver backing makes the light a little more crisp, which I like.
If you want one Elichrom diffuser for portraits, this is the one.
The only limitation is, Elinchrom don't make grids, it is hard control light spillage when used indoors. It is not an issue outdoors.
An additional benefit is that the smaller size makes it quite usueful outdoors when it is windy. Bigger reflectors and softboxes catch too much wind.
